Forums - Nintendo - Bandai Namco preparing three big Switch-exclusive titles that will come In Spring/Summer 2018

So I think one of the three is the already "announced" Tales of game that we keep hearing about like every month or two, the other two are everyone's guess, I think a From Software game is highly likely given that they've been quiet for so long: a Dark Souls trilogy would probably count (the other platforms already have DS3 so they don't need a trilogy) or maybe a collaboration like Dark Souls x Zelda given the inspiration the first has taken from the latter...

Where does it say exclusive?

Well it seems it's 3 exclusive Switch games, we can only hope that one game form those 3 is from From Software. :)

So the "Japanese devs scrambling" rumor was true then?

https://mynintendonews.com/2017/10/30/koei-tecmo-we-bet-big-on-the-switch-as-a-game-changer/

“We bet big on the Switch as a game changer so we began making games before the Switch’s launch, but many software companies showed reluctance in releasing Switch games before they witnessed the current success”.

                                          Koei Tecmo right now-

Actually, for all the success KT has had by jumping early into the Switch, you could say they've lost a pretty big opportunity. Most of KoeiTecmo's IPs have become less and less popular over the years. Dead or Alive, Nobunaga's Ambition, Fatal Frame, Ninja Gaiden, Dynasty Warriors... These are series that have either become much less well known or have survived through deals and crossovers.  They could have used the Switch lauch to reintroduce a lot of their old IPs during that vital first year, specially the West, where the chance of profit was bigger.

I know hindsight is 20/20, but at the very least a major relaunch of one of their franchises could have helped the company a lot.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

An enhanced port only on switch would probably cover this too

Or "Tank!Tank!Tank! 2: more Tanks!"

So they're remasters then? I don't see how they could have a big game releasing that soon otherwise if NB only started making them after they saw Switch's popularity.

I always thought that Nintendo hired Fromsoftware as a 2nd party studio to make a game for them, much like Sony did for Bloodborne, when I saw their name on that list of developers.

That list was to show who was interested/ had devkits to possibly make games.

That was "official list of Nintendo Switch partners", not list of interested potential Switch partners. :)

We are gonna get some big games like

Tank Tank 2
Lost Reavers 2
Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles 2

Not just that those games are not big but last one isn't even Bandai Namco IP. :)

Exclusives or not, more games coming to the Switch can only be a good thing for Switch owners.

That said, I'm sure plenty people wouldn't mind having some multiplatform games like DBZ or Dark Souls.

This will be a very awkward thread if it is found out this is a translation error.
Like when people thought the Switch was getting FF15, and he had to do another interview specifically to say it WASN'T getting it.

It's pretty clear:

Bandai Namco Oshita:
-Working on 3 Switch-exclusive games
-These are "big" titles
-Expect releases around Spring-Summer '18
