Forums - Nintendo - Physical version of LA Noire on Switch require a 14GB download

Good thing I already bought a 128GB sd card, but this kind of style is rendering the cart's plug n play useless, or can we already play while downloading those 14GB data in the background?

Nintendo Switch FC: SW-6340-7643-4233 aka Renji

Steam: Lee Roid

I personally love rockstar, but this is quite ridiculous to be honest. To be fair, I would also put 20% blame on Nintendo for releasing a 32gb system in 2017.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

What equation are you using to find the exact percentage?

Okay, let's forget the percentage. I'll rephrase: A bit of this is Nintendos fault.

I'll have to come to the realization that not everybody knows math :P

This is becoming an increasingly annoying problem, which I not expect to go away. Publishers are being cautious and chase every inch of profit they can. The consumer gets screwed however, and that will bite them in the ass.

Nintendo should have given the Switch much more internal memory though. I mean come on, you can't even play a game without having to purchase an SD card, multiple SD cards when your library grows throughout the years...

I don't have much of a problem with developers/publishers charging a bit more for Switch versions, they're not obligated to subsidise Nintendo's choices (even if i believe it was the correct choice), but charging more and forcing a significant download? That's just ridiculous.

This. I could justify one or the other, but I wouldn't buy this game out of principle now.

I wonder how much data different language packs are taking up a chunk of that pie. After getting Uncharted 3 from the PSN store a few months ago, I was flabbergasted to see just how much space each of the nearly dozen or so language packs would take up (like 2-4 gigs each), and was grateful Naughty Dog gave the customer the option to download them individually. I wonder if these devs would do like ND and let us download language packs and other unrequired facets to the game files, how much more space we could save.

Oh no, the first Rockstar game to be in a Nintendo platform since the early Wii/DS era not only is an enhanced port, but its dead on arrival. Hopefully the people at Rockstar will take those things into account, before coming out with a "Switch wasn't profitable for us" statement.

Sadly for me this just went from a probably buy to absolutely not. I don't mind paying a little more to have it physical on switch ($15 more than PS4 in Canada!) but I buy physical so I don't have to download. The fact that they are doing both is inexcusable imo.

If there was ever a chance of this game performing decently on the Switch, it's now tossed out the window.

Will this really hurt it that much, though?  NBA 2K was even worse in this regard, and people kept that game high on the eShop for weeks.  I get the feeling that a lot of people already have microSD cards in their system.

Switch carts strike again?

No, they're perfect, it's the clearly the fault of lazy third party developers with a bias against nintendo.

Not really. its jsut stupid busienss decisions. Activision requires you to get a 9.5GB patch for the new COD games before it is playable.
