"Nintendo has raised its sales forecast for its latest console, the Switch, following another quarter of strong performance. The company now expects to ship 14 million units in its financial year ending March 2018, up from its previous prediction of 10 million."

I just read this article and it seems like the Switch is expected to ship 14 million by march of 2019. This means if they sell that much by that time, it seems to me like they could catch up to the Xbox One by Q4 2019 (if Microsoft doesnt pick up the pace). That would be insane! 

If we are the trust the current pace with shipment constraints, just imagine what it will sell once the Switch is let loose with proper shipments. Based on the current information when do you think the Switch will surpass the Xbox One?

 Microsoft isnt releasing it for a reason. If the XBox One continues to sell the way it is, its most likely going to sell 50 mil at the most. I'm calling 45 mil by 2020. THe numbers should keep dropping yearly. The Xbox also has no Kinect to save its sales in the last three years like last gen. Its going to have to rely on alluring software.

How? 14m in March 2018 maybe another 14-16 million in March 2019 would put the Switch at 28-30m.

Hence why I said Q4 2019 is when i'd expect the Switch to surpass the One. I expect Microsoft to sell the Xbox in smaller incements as the years go by.

Considering how bad a year it has had this year while everyone was "waiting for the XB1X"; I don't think it matters.

My sentiments exactly. If Microsoft had good numbers they would've flaunted them by now.

Sometime in 2020.... Switch will probably have passed the Xbox One in sales.

Probably early 2020.

Probably 2020 is when it happens. I can see the Switch just under 50 million by the end of 2019, which would put it just short of the xbox one at that point.



Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

Thats if the Xbox One can sell fifteen million consoles between the end of this year and Q4 2020. The numbers are dropping according to VGChartz. Of course im not going for the greatest of accuracy but just close enough.
