Breath of the Wild.
No question. The new Zelda game just transported me back to the time I played a Link to the Past for the first time, hearing the rain from inside the castle. My little brother sitting beside me, watching the game unfold. Truly mesmerizing.
Mario Odyssey is a close second though.
Breath of the Wild for me. Of all the things i've played this year, the only game that comes close is Persona 5, though i have not finished it yet.
I have yet to also play Odyessy, which may be a contender!

Definitely BotW. Automata had a good entry that just didn't quite deliver as much as it could have (maybe if they'd focused more on the game and less on fanservice), I don't count ports from previous years so Dragon's Dogma is off the table (not to mention MK8D), and Mario Odyssey didn't impress me in the slightest (Mario games are boring to me). Breath of the Wild is far and away the GotY.

But since it since it is not an option besides (other) I went with Horizon Zero Dawn.
Super Mario Odyssey for sure, no other game comes close (Not that I've played many games this year anyways). Just finished the story, and that post-game... just wow, I wasn't expecting that, but I LOVE IT SO MUCH!
A few days ago I wouldve said Breath of the Wild without any hesitation. However, now that I'm halfway through Mario Odyssey, it looks like that will change. At the moment its a toss-up between the two.
However, AC origins looks like its everything I wanted from an AssCreed game, so I'm not gonna count that out just yet, until I've actually played it. Same goes for Wolfenstein II.
Bet with Intrinsic:
The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.
Breath of the wild for sure, however I'm still at the beginning of Odyssey so it could still change. It hasn't sucked me in straight away like botw did though.
I am going to be cliche and say Breath of the Wild. I am still haven't finished Mario Odyssey so I will have to get back to this.
For me it's either Horizon: Zero Dawn or Crash Bandicoot: N.Sane Trilogy.
Definitely Breath of the Wild.
(You mean 2017 released games only right? Because I played Gain Ground on Genesis and it was pretty dope.)
