Odyssey should easily be able to claim the best selling 3D mario title over lifetime sales. The only way I could potentially see it missing that is if we get another 3D mario on Switch in 2019 or something.

Pretty impressive. I did not expect that from Odyssey. Hopefully Nintendo shares first weekend sales.

The game is not even out yet and it did this already?

Folks this is what happens when you make a TRUE sequel to Mario 64. We are literally watching Mario 64's phenomenon repeat.

Wow that's INSANE! Breath of the Wild so far is the best selling video game of the whole year, Odyssey topping that on Amazon even before release should a good indicator of stellar sales.

Ummm... I think the comparison is a little unjustified.

Mario 64's phenomenon was more than just sales, it provided the ground in which all 3D games would be built upon from that point. Odyssey just introduces a hat mechanic, it's a fine game but it ain't as revolutionary as 64.

Odyssey, like BotW, is a very polished quality game in the franchise...
