I honestly think it could do near Galaxy numbers. I might be too optimistic with the predition, but, hey, Nintendo made me optimistic this year!

Nintendo has *considerably* increased its expenses on advetisement recently though, which leads me to believe that Odyseey will be a lot more front-loaded.

Yeahhh ibthink its the opposite. Switch games are having crazy legs. Look at splat2 and especially botw/mk8d

Both of you could be right. Switch userbase is tiny, so all year 1 games will sell a lot throughout the systems life. And the Switch users are buying a lot of software, specially Nintendo first party games.

I think Odyssey could have one of the highest openings, and great legs

Well look at npd and mc zelda legs are beyond better than expected and even im US..... Yeahhhh lol

In both cases, we were looking at titles closer to launch with extremely restricted access to consoles (I'm assuming that you're talking about spat2 in Japan, here). Until now, a large portion of software has been people picking up previously released software with their new console. We're slowly drifting away from that. 

 

Splat2n didn't actually have such ridiculous legs outside of Japan.
