Forums - Politics - Trump disrespecting a fallen soldier

Bottom line....if you hate Trump...then don't vote for the asshole in 2020 and he will be gone....

And the next President will be a Democrat....

My guesses:

1. Elizabeth Warren

2. Kamala Harris

3. Andrew Cuomo

Now everyone should shut the hell up until 2020.

I see nothing wrong with his statement. That's like someone in boxing getting hit too hard becomes blind in one eye and then people complain because someone pointed out that the half blind boxer understood the risks when he decided to become a boxer.

I do see something wrong with his statement.  But I honestly think he didn't mean to offend.  I think he is just too entitled.  I mean, it happens.  We celebrate wealth, but then we get mad at Trump for being clueless.  This particular soilder was killed and not recovered for 48 hours even though he had a position transmitter.  Thats...  well, that not something anyone would sign up for and so the statement is crasp at the very least.  Just believe that I am right.  But also, believe that people are crazy for expecting him to understand.

Here is a video of Chief of Staff John Kelly and his criticism of Representative Frederica Wilson for politicising the phone call:

And here is Representative Frederica Wilson's reaction:

First we should consider who put Kelly into the mix in the first place.  Who was it that actually tried to make calling family members about themselves.  Who also was it when they could have just apologize to the widow and tried to make it sound like she lied.  I have nothing against Kelly but he did try to make his boss look good in this mess caused by his boss.  He pretty much tried to say everyone is bad for making it political forgetting the person who started it all and made it political was his boss.  So yeah, she probably had every right to laugh because I know I would.

I'm just relaying information on the matter that I find. In any case, I do believe that the incessant politicisation of this topic is disrespectful and counterproductive.
That doesn't excuse her reaction, though. She makes it look as if she did it for popularity and not for the widow - a more sober press release should be in order clarifying her position on the Chief of Staff's speech.

Here's another phone call to another Gold Star widow, made in April 2017.

Don’t forget half the population of America hates him. And 90% of the news as well. He has shown great respect for the military as well. He says he has proof. Might as well wait for more evidence than getting our panties in knots.

has that ever born out? He's made claims of evidence to prove himself several times without producing anything. Seems like at some point him claiming evidence should be worthless and ignored.

Oh im not saying he hasnt lied or gotten himself crap. But there is times to attack him and other times you ask why is this news worthy? Or attacking him when they dont read the context correctly.

More just being a dumbass than disrespecting.

So we don't have an actual recording or anything? Just hearsay from someone who despises Trump?

Sounds like fake news to me until someone produces a recording...

joking right? If you want video or audio recording than why does Trump and his staff have to do damage controll over what he said?

How is saying the obvious disrespectful? Do not soldier know that they might die in combat?
You people and the fakeNews is making a huge deal out of nothing special.

Soldiers are meat in a grinder ... trying to slow the blade.

(ofc I respect Soldiers and what they do for the people ... they are the meat and the opposing front is the blade that you try to stop and break down) Why live in the illusion that they are something else?

I do not have a real problem with what Trump said to the widow, I have a problem with how he handled it.  When he heard that the widow had an issue with what he said, instead of feeling any empthy, he chose to double down and state he did not make those statements.  Next he said he had proof and chose to make it appear that the widow was lying.  to me that was totally disrespectful to the widow.  I do believe that Trump did not mean to cause her pain but I also believe he doesn't have the right frame of mind when he do these calls because he tried to make it about what he do instead of just doing it because he feels it the right thing for him to do.

The next thing that seems very disrespectful was Trump using Kelly son death to prove his point.  From Kelly speach, you can tell he is still grieving about his son and he definitely did not want his death to made into a political event.  By Trump telling reporters to ask Kelly if Obama called him threw Kelly into the whole mess.  Now reporters are going to ask him if Obama called and he has to relive those memorys when he never should have been involved.

Last but not least, even thought I respect Kelly, he did lie during that speach either intentially or not it was an untruth concerning Frederica Wilson speach for the dedication ceremony of the new FBI building.  Kelly should have totally left her out of the speach since now it looks like he was pulling a Trump move by telling a untruth to prove a point.  This has tarnished Kelly in a lot of people minds who thought he was above this type of political move.

Because while many of us realize this we also know that you don't say that to someone whose husband just died in said grinder and you're an asshole if you do. I think the issue most people have is that again and again we're being shown that we have an unempathatic dickbag for a president and we wish we didn't.
