Forums - Gaming Discussion - Is Breath of the Wild's sound track lackluster?

On the contrary, I thought it had a superb score.

Themes like Shiekah Tower, Attack on Van Medoh, Inside Van Medoh, Rito Village, the one that plays as each Divine Beast moves into firing position after you complete them, the final boss theme, awesome stuff.

There is no need to worry about this game's accolades. It will be remembered as a great one on all levels... let us hope not the greatest forever though :P

Feel free to check out my stream on twitch

The games music sucks. Its one of my biggest issues from it. And the music that does exist is bland garbage, probably the worst in the entire series

Thought overall it wasn't that great. Skyward Sword was much better imo, with the selections and atmosphere.

Awful soundtrack IMO. Only a handful of good songs. They don't have that "Zelda magic". I really miss Koji Kondo.

No, no and no.

Skyward Sword has a handful of great tracks, but that's just it: a handful.

Ballad of the Goddess, Skyloft, The Sky, Ghirahim's Theme, Faron Forest, Earth Temple, Lanayru Sand Sea, Lanayru Desert, Groose Theme, Demise, Ancient Cistern and of course my favorite, Koloktos.

That's the extent of it. The rest is just generic, bland.

Breath of the Wild has at least these:

Hateno Village, Zora's Domain, Rito Village, Hyrule Castle, Korok Forest, Gerudo Town, Molduga, Master Kohga, Dark Beast Ganon Phase 2, all the Blights tracks, Divine Beast Vah Rudania, Divine Beast Vah Naboris, Fairy Fountain, Prince Sidon's theme, all the champion themes and of course... Attacking Divine Beast Vah Ruta.

But nothings beats Majora's Mask OST.

It's not bad by any means, but I don't consider it noteworthy either. I like songs to stand out and be memorable

I think it has one of the best soundtracks in the series. Much better than both Skyward Sword and Twilight Princess at least.

Other Zelda games had more iconic songs. However, while playing games, I prefer minimalistic music and ambient sounds. So I actually prefer BotW's music over other Zeldas.

It's not.

The quietness was the whole point, just a few musical emphases on key areas, moments and parts. Anyone that played through the Hyrule Castle should know Nintendo didn't lose their musical taste. Besides, even though I like the Zelda theme or the various Hyrule Field themes, it would become very annoying to keep hearing that over and over again for a hundred hours.
