Appears that switch and PS4 were neck and neck again. I feel like October to switch and then November and December to PS4.

How do we know PS4 and Switch were neck and neck in September?

I see GAF is back. Hopefully that means someone nice will drop some hardware numbers there soon. That is assuming anyone from NPD wants to go there after the recent events.

Yes, I really hope someone will be kind and share September's numbers either on GAF or ResetEra. Would be great to have some "solid" numbers for the rest of the year as well. These are the estimates I've managed to find:

January:
PS4: 227,000
XB1: 150,000

February:
PS4: 410,000
XB1: 210,000

March:
PS4: 360,000
XB1: 200,000
Switch: 906,000

April:
PS4: 213,000
XB1: 127,000
Switch: 280,000

May: (PS4 was confirmed to be 1st this month but this was the overall closest estimate)
PS4: 185,000
XB1: 102,000
Switch: 195,000

June:
PS4: 382,000
XB1: 153,000
Switch: 216,000

July:
PS4: 217,000
XB1: 100,000
Switch: 222,000

August:
PS4: 190,000
XB1: 116,000
Switch: 215,000

September:
No numbers/estimates yet but SNES Classic was 1st, Switch 2nd and PS4 3rd.

2017:
PS4: 2,184,000
XB1: 1,158,000
Switch: 2,034,000

NPD's Mat Piscatella has confirmed that PS4 is the best selling console in 2017 (link).

We had more exact numbers in an earlier NPD thread.

Well according to the blurb PS4 lead as far as value goes but switch lead in units.  PS4 and switch are the same price for the majority of units sold.  This month had the pro bundle pushing the average price slightly higher for PS4.  If switch had greatly outsold the PS4 it would of also lead in revenue.

I've missed those numbers somehow.

Thanks

Oh, I see. You could be right but it's still difficult to know. I'd imagine all of the PS4 peripherals count toward hardware revenue (DualShock 4 controllers, PSVR units, etc).

Let's hope for some solid numbers soon.

We got estimates. Ps4/x1 combined 480k

What about Switch?

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

PS4/XBO at 480K i think most likely mean PS4 nearly 300k and XBO nearly 200k.

Switch may be over 300k then.

How I look at September 2017 NPD data, what have i done? xD

Now that $199 Black Friday ps4s are confirmed I'm sure a price drop to $250 is happening next week in time for COD launch and the start of the holiday fiscal quarter.

Where is that confirmed? The Playstation Blog?
