Forums - Gaming - So I played both Forza 7 and GT Sport today....

I'm guessing your talking about Shift and Shift 2: Unleashed never played either one but the studio that developed both games now develops Project Cars so I'm pretty sure the Shift games are closer to being simulators then being arcade racers.

That explains a lot actually. Shift 2 was pretty much unplayable with a controller as well when it came to the faster cars. Input dampening they called it, 150ms input lag for a racing game, perfect...

I have played FH3 and FM6 with all assists off before, seemed pretty similar to me. FH3 is definitely more of a sim than true arcade racers like Need For Speed, The Crew, and Burnout, so I think it's fair to call it simcade.

So FM7 that is a good simulator is almost the same as FH3 ok. I rest my case.

Sure whatever you say but pretty much all people that try to disprove that the Forza Motorsports games aren't good sim games never use stock cars with all the asists turned off and manual transmission.

And I thought GTS load times were bad enough...

Tracks take around 20-25 seconds to load, vs 4 short seconds in the groundbreaking GT3 for PS2. Consoles are progressively becoming slower and less convenient.

I'd say FM7 track load time is 40-50 seconds on XB1, even longer on my PC for some reason even though I have a 7200 RPM drive as opposed to the 5400 RPM drive in XB1. GT Sport is about 20-25 seconds, yeah.

How is the PC port overall?  I want to buy FH3 on PC but I remember hearing that it was a terrible port.

Also, what's the problem with the audio on GTS?  It sounds fantastic on Youtube.

I play FM7 on a XB1 S with the game being installed on the Internal HDD that came with the console and I think my load times are less the 40 seconds per track.

So NFS is a simulator because you can tune?

Nope, I'm talking about you thinking being tunnable already make the gameplay simulator instead of arcade.

And you that try to prove FM7 is better run on easy... so doesn't put what others race against me.

Awful on my PC, which has an i3 4370, a GTX 950, and 8GB of 1600mhz DDR3. Loads between 90 seconds and 2 minutes, 25 fps average but with severe stuttering (drops to like 4 fps often) even on low. It's really strange, I have seen people on Youtube with similar rigs to mine playing it at low-medium settings at a smooth 60 fps, but the game really hates my PC for some reason. My PC had similar issues on Forza 6 Apex though, which most people didn't have issues with, so I'm guessing it's more of a problem with my particular rig rather than a blanket problem.

Nothing, it's vastly better than previous GT games imo. I just think Forza 7's is slightly better.

Ugh.  I've read too many other complaints to have much faith.  I might pass unless there is a price drop.

I don't play FM7 on the easiest setting the game pretty much plays itself and the only reason I know this is because in the money glitch that got patched you had to do 2 laps on Daytona on super easy before doing a 30 second race on the same track in professional mode (all the assist turned of and manual transmission).

I think most of the problems aren't going to get fixed until the X1 X drops that is also when all the features of the game become available since currently there are no racing leagues, the auction house isn't open and there are no forzathons.

But the demo is pretty much the whole game that is why its 43GB it just doesn't let you access the whole game this isn't the case with the FM7 demo which is a seperate file and only lets you try three different races in three different cars which is less then 1% of the actual game.

I played on 3 different tracks in Forza 7 and 3 different tracks in GT Sport. Don't really see the issue here. The GT Sport is really more of a trial than a demo, you have to download the full game in order to play it and progress carries over to the full version next week.

which is all pretty irelevant when your cons for GTSport are "online servers arent working" and "the game crashes" for a game that is not even officially released.

Doesn't the word "demo" mean that it is a demonstration of the actual game?

Said easy not easiest... but you lost your case when putting that FH is close to simulation of FM and admitted that you use most of the assists because of control.
