Who goes by Amazons rating system?

The game sits on a healthy 87 metacritic.

Game might not sell well based off the Xbox Audience has already been spoiled with car racing games since launch and inarguably the best car racer this gen in Horizon 3.

In the UK it did below 30k (from neogaf), and thats a 60%+ drop off compaired to Forza Horizon 3 launch.

If its doing badly in the US too... I guess its up to australia to save it, sales wise?

Not charting in europe either, germany/italy/france/ ect.

At #127 on Amazon 3 days after launch and has 2.5/5 star rating. Wonder if it'll even chart on NPD.

#175 now.

It sold 1M on Steam =p

Selling well or not does not represents the games quality. Afterall there are 3 FM games and 2 FH games available on X1.

Again who goes by Amazon User reviews? Haha its an 87 on Metacritic.

The XB1 install base is much smaller than the 360's was at the time those "peak" Forza Motorsport games released. Also, Forza Horizon is probably stealing a bit of the sales, and the two year upgrade cycle is limiting anyone's ability to get excited about the new games. So, none of this surprises me.

I'd like them, at least for the next cycle, to go three years between launches of both FM and FH. They could do some kind of 1-off motorcycle racer, or maybe some kind of future racer to fill in the dead year.

Have yearly FIfa (and other sports games), CoD, AC dropped the sales of each edition to 40% of what they were 10 years ago?

FM5 sold better than 6 and at a much much smaller userbase, we already know the sales correlation to userbase is nowhere linear.

Like other have said, every two yearrs is to much. I usually only pick the even Forza Motorsports yet every Horizon so far.
If it wasn't a review copy i'd probably have left out FM7 again. I like the more dynamic weather and daytimes and having back Maple Valley, and yes, those widebody-kits. But even with the better career, i could have easily waited another year or two for a new Forza Motorsport.
Offroaders and SUV actually show where additional time could have went in my oppinion. Throw in a few offroad and rallycross tracks and stuff like that and add something really new, for Forza Motorsport at least.
Keep in mind that it has all the cars, so it would 'only' need good tracks. A really totally missed opportunity.

Honestly, it's a good, a really good game. Even with loot boxes. But at the same time i could hardly tell you why you need this one if you have Forza Motorsport 6.

Can't they just add rally to motorspot though, or Horizon?
A kart game would have to be very different, mechanically and visually.

Yeah, if they do rally, the easiest solution would be to add it to Motorsport. That is one way they can innovate and make Motorsport more interesting to more people, adding in rally or rallycross.

Sort of like them adding trucks this year.

Only reason FM2, 3, and 4 have those high numbers is because they were heavily bundled. So if I had to guess, FM sales have always been around the 1.5-2.5 million range.

CoD sales are far lower than they were a decade ago, yes.  AC had to take a year off, because they could read the writing on the wall.  FIFA - well, it certainly has not lost any steam that I'm aware of.

I agree, obviously, that the sales to userbase correlation is not 1:1.  But, it is a *fact* that a game's sales are limited by the install base of the console on which it appears.  So, there is a connection.

I'll offer this as well, as an occasional Forza player - the game is just the same thing over and over again.  I don't want to play it often enough to buy a new version every two years, expecially with Horizon in the intervening years.  I certainly don't want to buy it anywhere near the launch window, when the price is high.  I own Horizon 1 and 2, and Motorsport 5 and 6.  I think I may have one of the earlier Motorsports that I've forgotten about as well.  But, I've gotten half of them for free with XBL, and purchased the other 2 for less than $20 each, well after launch.

I also own a PS4.  In contrast to Forza, I'm a bit interested in picking up GT in the nearish future.  I won't likely buy it while it is $60.  But, I may get it in 6 months or so, at $35-$40.  There is no way that I'd pay $40 for a Forza game, unless it had some very major changes from the previous one. That's not because I like GT more than Forza.  In fact, I'd say I've had more fun with Forza games than I have with GT.  Its because I haven't burned out on continuous GT releases.

I'm certainly not the only person in this boat.
