Odyssey took the the lead in the pre-order charts, but it still has to compensate for CoD's extra week.

Other than that we know Super Mario Odyssey sold more than 1.1 million in it's first 5 days in the US. Call of Duty Black Ops 3 on PS4 did the same first week according to VGChartz although it doesn't include digital. But the last Call of Duty game Infinite Warfare did 714K first week on PS4 in the US.

Out of the gate at least, I think they will be very close to each other.

I think COD numbers will need to pick up. Especially if SMO continues to climb in the thousands place even if COD has an extra week.

Looks like Odyssey will win easily.

From the "chatter" online and social media mentions, SMO is going to easily win this battle for lifetime sales. In fact, it doesn't even look close.

Definitely COD when Digital and Physical sales are combined. I'd assume physical sales will barely go over 1 million, 1st week in the USA.

I kept telling people that the average sales for PS4 Cod were never close to 3's... BLOPS 3 is an putlier, it is the MW3 of this gen

I mean if we're talking about which will win the inaccurate pre-order charts sure. CoD being the actual sales winner is essentially confirmed already.

Mario Odyssey - 1.1m  (first 5 days in USA, retail + digital).

Call of Duty WW2 > 1.4m (Likely well over as this figure is doubling the retail copies of IW's USA launch only, and it's the best selling digital launch on PS4 ever.) - (selling twice as many units in its opening weekend as last year, and setting the day one record for full-game downloads on PlayStation 4.)

Update

In 2017 probably win CoD (even if VGC track more preorders for Mario), but in LTE sales Odyssey may win.
