 I agree 100%. I think Wii play has a right to be counted more than Wii Sports at least. You pay 10$ for Wii play. However I dont feel it should be counted here because budget games are not counted. I also am kinda angry that the 4x4 ATV game for the PSP is not counted in sales. if 5% of the PSP's bought were the 1gb memory stick/game version, it would be on the top 200 games list. It's not. First, I know for a fact that more than 5% of PSP's sold are the bundled version.

It's not that I discredit Wii sports in japan/europe, and If you want to be technical, the number of Wii Sports bundled should be counted in worldwide, but not in NA.

Wii play shouldnt be counted because it's barely a game. Most demo's have more content.

Yeah, you're absolutely right. I just scanned the graph for a few seconds. Should have looked at it longer.

should super mario bros have been counted? 

this site is about tracking video game sales, not about providing definitive "x console is winning" answers. You deal with those numbers how you want.

Personally, I think completely discarding Wii sports numbers when you talk about tie ratios is unfair, since you can guaruntee that Wii sports is being played and may take time away from other games. Just like it would have been unfair to discard Super Mario Bros for the original NES.

I totally agree with the OP, why not bring up uno for the vision camera or the other arcade games that came bundled, it's by far the dumbest aspect of tracking on this site. It's ok to archive how many copies exsist, but to actually include them as sales is just stupid, and most people I talk to agree.

Because VGcharts does not track downloadable content it only tracks content you buy in a shop, because it tracks retailer sell through. therefore, Wii sports is counted, as it is sold in shops. Downloadable content is not counted. Easy. If you don't like that Wii sports is counted then ignore it, but this site is a tracking site. It's better to track something that can be tracked than to not track it because you think it's "unfair"

xbla games are sold in stores in the form of bundles, where is the tracking for those? This site should have the option to toggle off bundled products for which they have the data, I sure as hell didn't want wii sports when I bought a wii, I had NO choice. Wii play is a controller bundle, it's just silly to factor them as main sellers. Maybe some sub category but not as a main seller. Otherwise jet set radio future sold like 2 million.

I would never have purchased Wii Sports by itself. Its main purpose is to show you what the Wii can do. It's too short, and the graphics aren't good enough, for it to compete with other Wii games, if it had been't been bundled with the Wii itself.


I actually sold my Wii Sports for $5, LOL.
