Forums - Nintendo - L.A. Noire will cost more on Switch than Ps4 and Xbox One

Cartidges don't sound like a £10 difference on every unit. 28% increase in price just because it's a cartidge?

There's only 2 races: White and 'Political Agenda'
2 Genders: Male and 'Political Agenda'
2 Hairstyles for female characters: Long and 'Political Agenda'
2 Sexualities: Straight and 'Political Agenda'

Edit: Just to illustrate my point, I got the Binding of Isaac retail version for Switch yesterday. It comes on a card, with a manual and even a bunch of stickers and it was €39.99, just 4 Euro more expensive than the Steam version of the game. Sure, the game is small. But still.

? Binding of Isaac is CAD 5.50 on Steam, rebirth CAD 17, Afterbirth CAD 12, Afterbirth+ CAD 11 the complete bundle in CAD 40.
Switch version is CAD 55, which is just Afterbirth+  CAD 44 more than the Steam version.

I'm not sure if there's been a simultaneous release yet where a physical Switch game hasn't been priced higher than the ps4/xbo versions, it's hard to tell as there's been very few cases of this so far.

But looking at Lego City Undercover as an example, it's currently £21.99 on ps4, £23.90 on XBO and £32.99 on Switch from Amazon.co.uk

The cost of cartridges is obviously not that much higher to warrant a $10 increase, but it's probably a contributing factor, no idea what the other factors are though.

I believe (don't quote me on this) that it was the same situation for the PS1 and N64, with the N64 games being more expensive.

100 bucks wasn't that rare, especially with taxes included.

Would be 130 bucks if we count inflation?

Not sure, but man, what a price!! I wonder how common discounts were back then though, I assume many games would quickly drop in price, especially without digital sales.

I think that if you really want to play something on a specific machine, ~$10 isn't going to sway you one way or the other.

Meh, it's a minor annoyance for me, not even close to enough to make me question my purchase of the game - and this game is on my list of purchases for this year as the original was my favourite non-Assassin's Creed game on PS3.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Well, I looked it up on Steam and those were the prices. Maybe I just don't get Steam but the page said Rebirth + Afterbirth + Afterbirth Plus is €36.97.

That's what happens when you don't use the most popular format for video games. I guess that's the price of being different.

$2-$3 is what happens when you use a $2-$3 more expensive format.  $10 is what happens when you want to up your margins without need.

Nothing to do with popularity or being different.

That's a number is you guys came up with by guessing. If not, then provide a source. If it's higher than that figure of yours then the price makes sense considering that nintendo takes a cut out of it. So they have to raise it higher for the difference. Regardless, nintendo chose a more expensive format for it's console instead of using a standard that's used by everyone. It just resulting in nintendo fans having to pay the difference.

Great game. Ill support this for Switch. If this doesn't do at least ok on the Switch, then Rockstar is done with the system I'm sure
