You bet.

*What does that mean

Consider this: soundwaves for example, such as music, are an analog medium that is digitized and sampled in order to be enjoyed on the internet for example.

I am pretty sure that if you tried to digitize and sample shit (the physical item), you'd end up with this list.

Usually I like EDGE, but what the hell? That's a rough list.

No Deux Ex. No Halo: Combat Evolved. No Final Fantasy VI. No Super Mario Bros. 3. No Chrono Trigger. No SoulCalibur. Portal, but no Portal 2.

Inclusions like Battlefied 4, Tearaway, Transistor, and Destiny.

I agree with #1 so I guess that's something.

I actually applaud the following criterion: "Each game had to stand up today rather than making the cut for reasons of nostalgia or historic significance." But a lot of older games are worthy of inclusion because of great game design, not because of influence or nostalgia.

Take a look at EDGE's 2007 list. What a difference a decade makes.

The only Final Fantasy to make it was XII, hahaha.

I can't take a list serious if it doesn't have Final Fantasy IX and Suikoden 2

so MGS5 is the greatest MGS according to them?

Edge was always a click bait magazine. It seems they like Tetris more and more, now at #7.

Seeing these lists always make me feel like finding someone's unattended cart at the grocery store. I mean...it's cool, maybe I want some of it, but I'd rather finish shopping on my own rather than care about someone else's groceries.

Nice choice for #1 though.

The 2007 list is funny. What I notice most, FF12 went from top 10 to in the 90s while Advance Wars apparently, even though 10 years have passed, is 3 places better.

Yet, the games haven't changed.

Hmm, pie.

No ratchet and Clank makes this list invalid

Well, unsurprisingly I don't really agree with the list. Edge has always rated Final Fantasy XII as the best in the series, which I've never understood, and I like the game a lot. The fact that no other game from the series is in there already makes this list poor in my opinion.

Arkham Knight being rated as the best game in that series is also weird, and by their own criteria of games having to hold up today rather than ranking based on historical significance should mean that Super Mario 64 wouldn't be anywhere close to that high. As much as I really like that game, it does not hold up nearly as well as people think. The Last Guardian above Shadow of the Colossus is stupid as far as I'm concerned. The more I look at the list the less I like it.
