physical and digital

Edit: It was at 401million by the end of last year so it sold around 80million software in 6 months. Pretty insane sales.

Good, but shall we consider it includes digital only and indie games?

It includes every game software sold except DLC so indies and digital titles are included.

really amazing!
The PS4 Sales Figures are soooo awesome, the most and best Games coming 2017/2018 for PS4.
And many new Games in august. Cant wait to see... the next sales figures = )

Lets be honest 2018 is already looking like a stellar year for titles, Spiderman, God of War, RDR2... I think 2018 will be the peak year.

It will be great for nostalgic gamers who don't gave a current gen system. Kingdom Hearts III, Resident Evil 2 Remake, Monster Hunter World and more.

Too bad we won't be able to pretend undisclosed sales were like 40% more than what we have tracking... well we can consider each PS+ user got 2 PS4 games each month and count that as a sale...

30M PS+ x 24 games per year x 7 year gen... = 5 Billion games sold... record breaking =p

2018 is the best Games-Year ever on PS4.

Detroit Become Human, The Last of Us 2, Spiderman, Yakuza 6, Ni No Kuni 2, Days Gone, God of War, Red Dead Redemption 2, Kingdom Hearts 3, Dragon Quest 11, DragonBall Fighters Z and many more :) maybe Shenmue 3, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Resident Evil 2 Remake too..

More than 110 million PS4s are possible, i think :)

PS4 in a comfortable lead. Go Sony.

It's great to see such success from PS4 and the Switch. This gives me hope that traditional gaming consoles will stay for a long time yet. I hope Xbox One X has a successful launch too. Great time to be a gamer.

Sony Corp.'s 101.4 billion yen ($920 million) increase in operating profit for the June quarter helped it beat estimates for that metric by 18 percent. Operating income came in at 157.6 billion yen, beating the 133.3 billion yen average of analysts' expectations.Investors shouldn't cheer too loudly, though, because more than two-thirds of that increase came from one-time items in the most recent period, or the lack of similar line items a year earlier.

Income Breakdown

Most of Sony's operating profit growth came from a compilation of one-time items rather than organic business expansion

More than a quarter of the increase derived from a 27.5 billion-yen gain for the semiconductor division after selling Sony Electronics Hunan Co., the company said Tuesday. Insurance recoveries from last year's Kumamoto quake also boosted the bottom line. At the same time, last year's figure was depressed by single events including impairment charges and quake-related losses.Removing all of those effects, Sony's operating profit would have expanded 31.4 billion yen -- or just 31 percent of the scale of the reported climb. That still makes for an impressive 58 percent increase, but not the standout figure the headlines suggest.

Decreasing loss is still good =]
