To everyone saying Witcher III: The combat consists of using the force push spell to knock all human enemies down and then finishing them off. The dialogue is way too long winded. Potions are pretty much useless in the game.

Don't get me wrong. I liked the Witcher III,  and would recommend it to most people, but it has some huge glaring flaws.

I assume you didn't play the game on the higher difficulties. Death March is what it needs to be played to be appriciated.

I started the game one difficulty level above whatever the normal difficulty was.

My most played games would be Starcraft: Brood War and Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne.. I've never had as much fun with any games like I had with those for a combined... 12 years I believe. That was crazy.

As far as consoles go.. probably Zelda Breath of the Wild. The magnum opus of console games IMO.

So if I say the Earth is flat my opinion isn't wrong is just unpopular, right...

At least I do make arguments, you are just being passive agressive all the time.

An opinion is a subjective statement. Saying that the earth is flat is not a subjective statement. It is an objective statement, and an incorrect one. Google objective vs subjective. I know that in popular culture an opinion is "whatever somebody happens to think is true", but that's not what it is in real life. Just trying to be helpful here.

That's right, I was using the word opinion as it is used in popular culture, however to say that the Goodfather is better than Transformer 5 can also be an objective statement if I'm not saying is just my opinion, I can say that in a categoric way and i would be right, as the whole cinema theory would support my point and not a single expert would disagree.

I havent played OoT, GTAV, SM64, nor FFVII.

But I will tell you the ones that impacted me the most when I played them:

Super Street Fighter II

Mortal Kombat III

Age of Empires II

Half Life

Unreal Tournament

Counter Strike

Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast

Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

Except it's an opinion, and opinions aren't wrong, just unpopular. But you keep right on digging your feet into a losing argument. Or, you know, just admit you stumbled over your words and the wrong intention came out.

Are you... did you really... wow.

The earth being flat can factually be disproven. It's objective.

Opinion =/= Fact

That example you gave is completely wrong. The Eart not being flat is a fact, is something that is factually right, that dosent depend on a random person opinion to be true or not.Thinking a movie or game is good or not is subjective, because it depend on that person taste. As Azuren said, opinions can be unpopular or not, but a movie or game being better or not are nowhere in the realm of facts.

You can stabilish rules to have competitions on wether something is better, like we use Metacritic here, but thats another discussion entirely, and not the point he is trying to make

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

I feel like a Magnum Opus can't have design flaws that instigate as much negative commentary as Weapon Breakage did, but it's your opinion. I personally would put Bloodborne or Shadow of the Colossus in that spot. Bloodborne for being a tight masterpiece and SotC for being an amazing work of art.

Explain the bolded please. What is this whole cinema theory you mention? What you mean by a categoric way? I think you may be confusing better at performing a task with better overall (as in I liked this one better). We could say that the Godfather is a better movie because it conveys meaning to it's audience better. But conveying meaning is just something that is valued by the subject. Another subject might think that more action and explosions make for the better movie, and would just argue that since Transformers 5 has twelve times as explosions it is objectively better. But that subject would be conflating better at showing explosions with better overall (as in I liked this one more).

It's obvious that the best game ever is The Last of Us which, disappointingly, is not featured in the poll. Thus making this thread incomplete and invalid. Ugh! An "Other - Please Specify" option would've sufficed.
