Of course it is. Not only did it come out recently, but it has been facing massive shortages. The second people see it's in stock, they buy it. Same thing happened with ps4 for months. Hell even NES mini sold out immediately. Real demand will become more apparent when they sort out supply.

It came out 4 months ago. By this time the Xbox One sales already dropped off a cliff and the same can be said about Wii U and PS Vita (which never had great sales to begin with).

Of course NES Mini sold out, nostalgia is a powerful thing. SNES Mini, if stocked properly, could outsell Xbox One and more this holiday season.

Yes, but compare the NES mini's 4th year with Xbox one's fourth year and you'll see why your comparison of NS with ps4 is problematic.

Also, what shortages did wiiu and psvita face?
Shortages do help create hype, hence the sales of amiibos when they weren't in stock with when they were and most people stopped caring.

The problem with arguing about shortages creating hype is that the numbers themselves can show the is genuine hype with out them, NS with shortages is selling at PS4 levels a platform that itself is selling beyond well. This highlights genuinely that the is high demand, looking at the numbers on this site NS passed 4m back in May and would passed 5m heading to 6m right now, that is on par with other high demand platforms.

Vita and WiiU didn't have shortages simply because of one fact they weren't anywhere near the demand the Switch has right now, shortages don't create demand and hype it's the other way around.

How so?

I took mario 64 and sunshine etc, but yes, fuck the oddworld devs for milking.

They have more than Mario as an IP and just introduced 3 new IP's this year alone. Lorne is literally relying on 1 IP and keeps re-releasing it Oddworld. Also most Mario games while the same IP are different.

Yeah, not buying it and not buying anything from this guy again.

Nintendo have a shit ton of studios  working for them of course they have other IPs, they are one of the console makers, Oddworld studio is small studio.

And they are not releasing the exact same game over the years the same way super mario bros 2 is different than 1 and so one.

Oddworld HD just got released within the past couple years and right now he is working on a HD re-release of Munch's Odyssey...spinoff of Oddworld. Meanwhile Nintendo is working on Mario Odyssey a totally new game in the series that does a bunch of new things.

They ventured into mobile gaming, which has worked great for them so far. (Pokemon GO).

Did you miss when Nintnedo themselves had to point out that Pokemon Go was not their project at all and that they were only a tertiary partner?

Let me get on up this hoe really quick.

His main problem was the fact that his indie little shit didn't sell very well on Wii U. Your games are nothing but more 2D indie crap, it is not Nintendo's responsibility to promote a third party late indie port.

"They won't help you out unless you release the game on the same day as the other platforms". NO SHIT. Ain't nobody asking for more games like yours, YOU decided to make the port when there was no demand for it to begin with. And that stupid little comment applies to everyone, nobody will embrace and promote late ports of crappy indie games. Is your shit Minecraft? Is your shit Pokemon? If your shit isn't a potential system seller or a very high profile title, nobody will promote it for you.

Rant over.

They still have ownership over the Pokemon IP, and it's directly link to surges and sales in the Pokemon games on the 3DS, (X/Y, and OR/AS), the biggest launch in the franchise's history with Sun/Moon, and increases in sales for the 3DS itself. That game is directly responsible for the 3DS beating the PS4 and Xbox One in the U.S. last year in July according to NPD.
Try again.

And are we still ignoring the Nintendo Switch's low software sales?

It hasn't even been 6 months since the system launched. It launched March instead of November, so no Holiday boost for Switch (Black Friday, the entire month of December). And it's hard to sell software when there isn't any hardware available (didn't stop Breath of the Wild from outselling the Switch itself during its first month, but I digress). Which is the main reason pre-orders for Splatoon 2 (currently unavailable on Amazon US by the way) aren't as high as they could be, because nobody can find the system it's available on.
