The shareholders meeting revealed the approval ratings for some of the important people at Nintendo. Kimishima was at 97.7%, which is a great improvement compared to his

87.14% rating from last year.

I know a lot of people were skeptical about him, and had great reason for doing so. He claimed he never accepted the Wii U, so his future decisions would be interesting. Thankfully, he has created a system where the 3DS still gets quality games as the Switch continues to build its own momentum. We now have an $80, $150, and $300 pricing range for Nintendo's systems, giving it the ability to cater to everyone.

I guess he is a worthy president for Nintendo. 97% is still shocking to me, as I never anticipated someone to be accepted so quickly.

Is that ridiculous? How high are approval ratings for CEOs in Japanese companies typically?

For the most part since he's taken over, so far so good.
Nintendo's future is looking very bright and he deserves much, much credit for it.

I do not pretend to know how much he has been directly involved in (as Switch was being planned and produced before he took the seat and I am unsure how many business decisions he really had to make or conduct since Switch plans were laid out by Iwata and his crew) but he is clearly allowing the correct people to help and guide him. He is charismatic and I find him rather likable. I am unsure if 97 is absurdly high or not but it seems high to me. He does have my approval thus far.

Could be good...could be a Japanese business thing where everyone is expected to trust their leadership unconditionally. I don't know enough to say for sure.

Also curious if these things are done anonymously...or if they have to attach their name and explain their answers.

Personally...I think he's been doing a good job so far...but that has a lot to do with overseeing a new console launch. Definitely curious to see more of his future direction for Nintendo.

Probably anonymous, but it hardly matters.  This was actually a shareholders vote.  So that means two things.  One, these were shareholders, whom these executives/board members have absolutely no influence over and who often have limited relations with the company by design.  Second, if you don't like him, vote against him.  He could have been voted out right then with no recourse for him.

On a side note, all 5 executives re-elected are around 97% favorable votes.  That is very high but things right now are very good so not shocking.  Though it is very high.

Tried looking for Sony's stats but came up empty. Chances are their CEO isn't in any trouble currently

Took a massive hit in 2014, and I assume it didn't go lower because of his terrible case with cancer :/ I don't have 2015's numbers; I'm assuming they simply skipped it.
