Oh man.......so pretty much all third party games minus CP2077 will use game key cards. Nintendo only offering game key cards or a 64GB card is going to do numbers on game collecting diehards.

Thats crazy. There were like 600K units sold in the launch week of the first Switch in all of Japan. This is just for the My Nintendo store. Also the Switch sold 1.2M in the US the first week. This launch will be big I think.

Then Nintendo better give us even more must have games for the system.

They wont. By next year, they will fill their schedule charging only graphical enhancements on Switch 2 edition games

Yep, looks like game-keys are going to be the standard for third party on switch 2.Which is a shame considering the 256gb storage and expensive SD cards. But not going to be an issue for me.

I'd love to know how much more the switch 2 cartridges cost to make than the switch 1 carts.

Nintendo at least offered several options with 8, 16, and 32GB cartridges. I remember they were working on 64GB cartridges early in the Switch’s life, but supposedly were having technical issues and dropped it.

So standard cards for Switch 2 I imagine cost more than Switch 1 cards ever did since now 64GB is the only larger capacity card available.

I guess that justifies the higher prices for certain games, as long as all the memory on the card is used.

okay…so i know this may come off as console warring, but I am legitimately trying to figure out whether I should stick with my current system of purchasing 3rd party exclusively on PS5 & 1st party on NSW1+2, or if it would make much difference centralizing everything to NSW2.

How is this different than how PS5 games work? As far as I’m aware, most physical games can’t even be played for longer than a few hours without downloading content first…unless I’m confusing digital and physical?
