Doug Bowser confirmed that the prices they announced at April 2nd were indeed already taking into account the tariffs that had already been announced

But as I just posted he literally said to the verge "Any previous tariffs were not factored into the price itself" lol.

Though this could just be the Brazilian price did take into account tariffs and the USA price did not.

https://universonintendo.com/presidente-da-nintendo-of-america-afirma-que-tarifas-dos-estados-unidos-terao-impacto-menor-no-brasil-em-relacao-ao-switch-2/

It was in an interview to a Brazilian newspaper, so I will just post the full quote in Portuguese and you can translate it however you like:

Thats good see, if I would bet the system will cost around  RS 3000 (~US 500) for the basic pack and RS 3500 (~US 580) with MKW, wich would still be cheaper than PS5 DE here RS 4000 (~US 660) and thats being pessimistic

That's... Weird to see, huh.

I hunted down the original interview article, and that full quote is there:

https://www1.folha.uol.com.br/tec/2025/04/tarifas-devem-ter-impacto-menor-no-preco-do-switch-2-no-brasil-diz-presidente-da-nintendo-of-america.shtml

It's paygatted, but if you can circumvent that, there is more interesting stuff there too.

Oh, and no, he wasn't talking about Brazilian prices, because he also says that they haven't decided on Latin American prices yet.

Silksong screenshots have gone up on Nintendo's Japanese site.

If we could get Ninja Gaiden 4 on Switch 2, that would be nice.

I'm happy that it's still alive.

If only they didn't have to pay so much for the software. Switch 2 game prices are even less reasonable than the price for the console itself.

It's clearly not an issue for them because the platform and its games are geared for their tastes they know they'll get value out of the games they buy, as much noise as what is being made those who buy Mario Kart for example will be playing it for years to come it's not like it's some yearly release title in fact same goes for a number of first party titles. Yeah price rises are annoying buy they've been going up since the 80s it's not a new thing, when I started gaming games cost £30, it's just something that comes with each gen however prices do come down after a while and the will be sales that allow purchases at lower prices.

Yeah, I just have to take advantage of certain deals. In one store I get 10% off new releases. In another I get points when buying games to use in future purchases. And I can trade in games at a local gaming store. It sucks, but there are options at least.
