Cleaning up for Mario Odyssey's post game and I'm astonished with how many moons there are on a single map.

The developers have done a lot in terms of streamlining. It feels like it drastically turns down the difficulty of 3D Mario games just by adding checkpoints lol. 

Going through Mario Kart 8 DX some more, because I remembered that I hadn't played through the DLC cups on higher difficulties yet. I hope the improvements made in MK8 DX carry over to Mario Kart 9/Whatever the next Mario Kart is called.

Don't know if they'll bring back the improvments per day cuz the next could in the end some aspects of the game depending on what they wish to do with it. 

I mean I wouldn't honestly want the next game to feel too close of MK8DX, but it wouldn't be a deal breaker either cuz the current game is just plain solid.

But the roster should be changed in the next game.

Cut Metal Mario, Pink Gold Peach, Cat Peach, Peachette, Tanuki Mario, Gold Mario, Dry Bowser, Baby Peach, Baby Daisy, and Baby Rosalina.

Add Dixie Kong, Candy Kong, Cranky Kong, King K. Rool, Klump, Krusha, Professor E. Gadd, Wart, Mouser, Sniffit and Foreman Spike.

Instead of cutting, add the ones you mentioned.

Picked up the DLC for Warhammer 40K Boltgun and Zombie Army 4, plus Severed Steel on Christmas sale. 

Gonna squeeze the last drops of juice from the ol' Switch before its replaced; just finishing off The Plucky Squire, then next up is Bakeru.

It's been a fun 8 years, hopefully its ends on a strong note.

No, but the characters I'd cut are taking up space that should go to better characters. Would anyone really miss Pink Gold Peach or Tanuki Mario? Wouldn't they work better as character costumes?

Yes, they would. I also think that's one aspect we'll see reintroduced in MK10 because they've already dabble with it on MKTour and it was their main money driver.

Don't know if they would be tempted to sell them as MTX, DLCs or coming with the package as is.
