Yeah, obviously they're not doing a stealth launch. I meant the reveal won't come till 2025 if it's not this coming week.

Oh my bad lol

There was a rumor that stated November for reveal or a teaser but these "leakers" and "insiders" have been saying September and October previously. Likely getting fed with fake information or second guessing.

I think they might just skip #1 this time and just announce the press event with Switch 2 in Q1 and launch 2 months after mostly because their hand was forced due to the state of Wii U and them entering the mobile market and a need to confirm they were still in the dedicated hardware business to investors.

Oh yeah 8 years today since NX was announced as the Switch.

I can see that plus to announce a new system right now would cannibalize their Switch holiday SKUs that they are releasing for Black Friday and the Holidays.

It made sense for them to announce the Switch in Oct of 2016 because the WiiU was a complete and utter failure of a platform. The Switch is doing great even though its in its twilight. There should be a healthy amount of purchases this holiday despite none of the bundles/skus being anything revolutionary or money saving.

Further proof Nintendo has been better with Banjo-Kazooie than Microsoft.

I kinda wish MS would sell the IP to Nintendo but even if they did, BK would probably get iced as much as MS is doing it considering there's a lot of Nintendo IPs currently frozen (i.e. Golden Sun, Earthbound, Nintendogs, etc).

It would still be better than how Xbox handled BK. They could even stay in Smash Bros.

I'd argue du to the release schedule at this point. This is most likely the ultimate week this year for the Switch successor to be officially announced. To many releases incoming and holiday shopping spree starting for them to actually handicap themselves for this season otherwise.

Feels so weird that there's a legitimate chance we hear only of the successor past the Switch 8th year anniversary ...

To goodness though, I think this legitimately also gives the needed team to work on their projects in timely manner and other future projects too. A good sentiment that appart from the Pokemon Company shenanigans, Nintendo isn't about to rush the new system release with droughts anew.

Would be funny if they announce/tease something this Thursday (which logically you can say would be around the time they announced the Switch) - I mean ya today is the 8th year anniversary but its a Sunday.

Solid choice for a developer!

They're worthy of such a great undertaking. ^^

Apparently it's also an Unreal Engine game:

A lot of these collabs with external studios (this, Pikmin 4, Yoshi's Crafted World) seem to be taking this route, probably for the sake of developer familiarity. It's easier to just use UE than teach devs how to use Nintendo's in-house technology.

I'm sorry, Nintendo's latest Switch update is fucking up Switches?
