I didn't see too much that I wanted from the Indie World, but they had a good variety of games in the show, which is nice. I know people are still eager to hear about Silksong too, hopefully there's some more updates on that in the future. XD

I'm surprised to see the Switch Lite sales nearly on par with the base model. Is there some kind of stock issue happening in Japan atm?

Yeah whenever the two are close, it basically means shortages, as normally the base model sells far more. Switch stock in Japan has been tight for a while now. Not enough to prevent strong sales, but enough that it commonly sells out at major outlets.
Speaking of the House of the Dead remake, I'm looking forward to the Panzer Dragoon II Zwei remake from them, which is coming later this year; I expect we'll see that one at E3, just like the remake first Panzer Dragoon was shown at E3 2019.

I thought the remake of Panzer Dragoon was based on the first two games...?

No, only the remake of Panzer Dragoon 1 is currently available, the remake of 2 is scheduled for later this year.

We all have different tastes. There were 4-5 games I saw in that direct that surprised me in a good way and I would like to play, and The House of the Dead isn't one of them. One of the best indie directs ever for me.
Dulfite said: That was a fantastic indie direct! TMNT makes me so happy! GetsuFumaDen: Undying Moon looked really visually interesting! I know nothing about Oxenfree but that trailer has me hyped! As someone who loves Paper Mario and classic JRPG's that Chris Tales game looks really awesome. I am very pleasantly surprised by that Nindie direct! |

I very much enjoyed the first game. It has light puzzle elements, but mostly it's a narrative game where you make different choices in branching conversations. The voice acting and sound design sold me on the characters and while the story is weird and a little ambiguous, it's also fun to piece together what's really going on. The game remembers previous replays and will change slightly at times based on what you did in another playthrough. One thing I really hope for with the sequel is more ending variety. Despite all the various branch points and conversations it narrowed back down to only 3-4 different endings.
