I finished DK Bananza on Switch 2 on January 25th 2026.

The DLC was pretty good, kick of nostalgia in the feels bros...

The last few hours of the game's main story was amazing, that twist even though I spoiled it for myself months ago was still great.

Also the post game content was great too, a lot of stuff and challenges.

Makes me excited to see what the next 3D Mario will be like, large shoes to fill in since DK Bananza imo topped Super Mario Odyssey.

GOTY 10/10

Score wise comparison of all the games I played and finished in the series....

Donkey Kong Country (SNES): 87
Donkey Kong Country (GBC): 76
Donkey Kong Country (GBA): 87
Donkey Kong Country 2 (SNES): 93
Donkey Kong Country 3 (SNES): 90
Donkey Kong Land (GB): 45
Donkey Kong Country Returns (Wii): 91
Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D (3DS): 87
Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze (WiiU): 91
Donkey Kong Bananza (NS2): 100

It seems you were unimpressed by Bananza… /s Also, solid scores. The DKCReturns respect is much appreciated.

When DKC Returns was announced, I completely lost it (in a good way lol)

I loved the Wii version and though my scoring was less for the 3DS version , it had a lot of QoL features that were much needed.

Cant wait to play it again on my Switch 2 - gonna do that in the future along with Tropical Freeze and the DKC Trilogy and DK Land Trilogy on NSO Classics.

Here's hoping DKC GBA Trilogy and DK64 comes to NSO Classics in the future.

Sounding more and more like the Partner Showcase is what we're getting.

I'll tell you what, with how the quality of 3rd party games have seemed to be ramping up on Switch 2 compared to Switch 1, and the 3rd party games due to release this year, this could still make for a pretty exciting direct.

Off the top of my head, Resident Evil Requiem and Pragmata are two big games from Capcom that could be feature. Some other announcments could be that rumored Monster Hunter Wilds port - And perhaps they might even announce a sequel/successor to Monster Hunter Rise here?
And Square Enix might even drop a date or window of FFVII Rebirth following the initial success of Remake's launch on Switch 2. Maybe the Kingdom Hearts Collection will find its way on Switch 2, and perhaps an actual native, honest-to-God release version of Kingdom Hearts III, as opposed to the cloud version we got on Switch 1. And maybe, juuust maybe, a substantial update, or even a teaser, of Dragon Quest XII.
There's also SEGA and Atlus; Perhaps some news about the next mainline Sonic game or an official announcement that Persona 4 Revival is coming to Switch 2?

And that's just the Japanese 3rd parties. With the Western 3rd parties, perhaps we could see Microsoft put more of their Xbox games on Switch 2 after just releasing some on PS5. Activision is also owned by Microsoft, perhaps they could drop the announcement that Call of Duty is finally returning to Nintendo after a decade with an upcoming port of Black Ops 7 and the announcement that the next COD game will release on Switch 2 this holiday season alongside the other versions. EA could also do the same with Battlefield 6? Perhaps Rockstar North could make an appearance with announcements of ports for RDR2 and GTA V.

The thing about Partner Showcases that makes it different and potentially more interesting than the usual Directs - Is that in usula Directs, we're getting major news and announcements from ONE publisher (Nintendo). With these Partner Showcases on the much more promising/3rd party friendly Switch 2, we could be getting major news and announcements from MANY publishers.

The twist final boss is why it deserves better sales.

The twist final boss was Donkey Kong's "Hijacked by Ganon" moment.

It fell flat in Twilight Princess, and it fell flat here.
