Finished What Remains of Edith Finch on Switch 1.

I'm not normally into these type of narrative adventure games as I usually need some kind of action to keep me engaged, but the haunting story and some clever light gameplay kept me hooked here til the end.

Well worth the $7.

Mario Tennis appears to just be a renewal, being that the game has hit its 10 year anniversary. TriForce Heroes, however, could be something…though I’m not getting my hopes up.

What I wanna know is has anyone as of late made a good successor to GoldenEye or Perfect Dark that's available for Switch or Switch 2?

There's a PC title called Agent 64 based on Goldeneye.

Nightdive's various remasters and remakes of classic shooters may also be a good subtstitute.

I thought Metroid Prime was kind of a successor to Perfect Dark, but Perfect Dark was a lot less open ended and more about espionage. The only real things it had in common with Metroid Prime are the badass female lead and scary aliens.

Decided fuck it and bought a whole bunch of stuff on special that's been sitting on my wishlist for years; Cavern of Dreams, Burnout Paradise, What Remains of Edith Finch, the Mario RPG Remake, etc.

Been binging games a lot atm to pass the time while I'm on leave for recovery.

Please be cautios of What Remains of Edith Finch while you're having your hard time. It us very emotional. I don't know, perhaps that might be a bit too much right now. Then again, perhaos it's the opposite and it's kinda therapeutical (don't know if that is s real word)

Just know that I cried like a little bitch at the end. Do with that what you want.

Nevermind haha.

Thanks for the heads up, I do appreciate it.

I was fine with it, my depression is less the "sad" kind and more the "I have been under severe stress for too long and can't function any more" kind.

Virtua Racing was on sale on Switch for like $3 so I grabbed it.

It's incredible how well it still holds up for such an early 3D game, originally releasing in arcades way back in 1992. Still plays great and thanks to its clean simple style has aged really well.

*sees that Gold Points can't be earned from Donkey Kong Bananza, Kirby Sir Riders or Metroid Prime 4*

So apparently, at some point in the last 8 years, I bought Doom 64 on Switch, never played it, archived it, (despite the fact that why the fuck would I do that when it only frees up like 150MB) and forgot all about it.

Then today, I was going through my virtual game cards and was like "shit, I didn't even remember I had that" and jumped right in.

The game is freaking brilliant; I read that it was somewhat poorly received at the time cos it was perceived as "outdated" compared to Goldeneye, but I'd argue it has actually aged better and is still a blast today.
