Decided fuck it and bought a whole bunch of stuff on special that's been sitting on my wishlist for years; Cavern of Dreams, Burnout Paradise, What Remains of Edith Finch, the Mario RPG Remake, etc.

Been binging games a lot atm to pass the time while I'm on leave for recovery.

I don't have cancer, it's depression this time that I need to recover from, I had a bit of a mental health breakdown last month.

The cancer I had is considered to be "cured" if you go 8 years without a recurrence, so it will be gone for good in April 2028. :)

I had a slight breakdown a few days ago that I didn't tell anyone about until now. Hopefully you make it to April 2028 without anymore cancer. 🫂

I feel better. Mostly I was sad because my animation career has been pretty much dead the past few years.

One thing that's helped me feel better is this.

Man how did I get to the year 2026 without finding out about Diplodocus Games?

They make a bunch of really low cost retro style games modelled after systems like N64 or SNES or Saturn that are like $5 or less, and they're a blast. Tried Cavern of Dreams from them, and bought Kiwi 64 and Beeny as well which also seem like a ton of fun, highly recommended to anyone who grew up gaming in the 90s.

What I wanna know is has anyone as of late made a good successor to GoldenEye or Perfect Dark that's available for Switch or Switch 2?

There's a PC title called Agent 64 based on Goldeneye.

Nightdive's various remasters and remakes of classic shooters may also be a good subtstitute.
