Picked up a 1TB micro express card yesterday when I grabbed Kirby; it was on special at EB Games for $40 off.
I managed to make a 256GB card last the entire Switch 1 gen, but I feel this gen may be more of a struggle. Gonna have to do a lot of "inventory management" I expect.

I see now why critics don’t rate these Air Ride games all too high: Kirby Air Riders demands a lot more from the player. You aren’t moving at a slow pace, and many of the central mechanics are far more challenging than simply collecting (well-placed) coins or hitting an item box. Lot of moving parts… definitely not nearly as casual friendly an experience as most Nintendo games.

You can tell that Sakurai put his whole heart into this game. Really fun so far!

Join us in the official thread if you like; I'm having a good time with it too, even though as a more casual player it's making me sweat haha

Retro had one of the most chaotic starts of any studio.

Bought Luigi's Mansion 3, DKCR, and TTYD on the recent Black Friday sale.

I was thinking long and hard for EoW but ultimately held off to spare my backlog lol.

Echoes of Wisdom is one of my favorite games on Switch! Hiiiiighly recommend picking it up one day. (It sits as my 7th most played game on Switch... which is where I have literally done all my gaming for nearly a decade. And this is in less than a year...as a single-player game.)

It's a great choice to be Zelda's first solo outing. ^^

For reference, this makes Metroid Prime 4: Beyond the largest first-party release on NS1. Nearly double the second largest (TotK — 16GB). I fully expect this game to be no less than a 90OC. I am so excited for this!

Whoa, beats out Xenoblade Chronicles X on Wii U as the largest Nintendo release ever too. (That one was 23GB)

Probably a combination of more texture detail and variety than most other Nintendo games, more VA, and from the looks of things some pre-rendered videos.

I wonder if the Switch 2 version being a bit bigger is due to higher res assets.

I'm more surprised the increase isn't too significant considering what we've seen of the differences between that Switch 1 trailer and the Switch 2 footage since then.

There's also the matter of that open space desert which prolly occupies a portion of those GB.

Anywoo, don't worry, Monolith Soft next game will likely beat out this number easily knowing them.

Nintendo never stopped utilizing compression unlike most developers, I imagine uncompressed these games would weigh in at much more.

For fans of Paper Mario: Escape From Ever After which has a very similar style clearly modelled after the Nintendo series releases on Switch 23rd of January 2026:
