Well, it's official; Curl-6 is, as of today, the owner of a Nintendo Switch.

Just finished setting it up and played through the tutorial of Splatoon 2; still getting used to the physical form and feel of the Joycons.

Out of curiousity, did you say you would never buy a Switch in particular, or any Nintendo console ever again in general?

I said if Breath of the Wild was cancelled for Wii U I'd never buy anything from Nintendo again. I was also quite skeptical of Switch for the first few months, worried it would run out of steam or Nintendo would return to their 2011-2016 ways.

I take it your faith has been restored, at least to some extent?  :P

I imagine Mario Odyssey and Xenoblade not being delayed (and looking better as more videos surface) has played a part there?

Yep, faith pretty much restored to pre-2011 levels at this point. ;)
And yeah, the fact that they haven't been delaying their key titles left right and centre like they used to helped a lot, as did Botw being one of the best games they've ever made and Odyssey looking like it will be as well.

I figured as much xD

It's quite the contrast.  The Switch in its first 10 months will have 10 retail first and second party releases:
Breath of the Wild
1, 2, Switch
Mario Kart 8: Deluxe
ARMS
Splatoon 2
Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle
Pokken Tournament DX
Fire Emblem Warriors
Super Mario Odyssey
Xenoblade Chronicles 2

And so far of those only one has failed to get possitive reception.  All have had good to spectacular reception.  And unless something goes terribly wrong with the remaining 3 (unlikely :P ) the trend should hold true.  And Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey, and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 are all way bigger projects than usually appear in the first year of a system.  It's still hard to believe they pulled it off.

And the fact they have such strong relations with Bethesda and Square Enix - who contributed 0 and 1 games to the Wii U respectively - is also quite a surprising turn.

Oh and also let's not forget Metroid.  I think that's worth a a few thousand bonus points :P

That's nice to hear! Let's hope we all have fun in this new era
