Mario Kart Live was not a big hit. When a properly working AR game based on one of the most popular IPs in gaming can't even reach 2m lifetime, then it should be clear that the interest in AR is very low.

For how expensive it is and considering it's space requirement I think it sold very well. It's not like it stopped selling, it can still reach 2mil.
