Forums - Sony - Crash Bandicoot reviews

So that's it, I just completed Crash Bandicoot and got the Platinum trophy for the game ^^' well until the dlc releases.

I would give the game a 6/10 for difficulty but because of high road and the fact that you need minimum Gold relics I give it an 8/10 for difficulty aswell. if you go for the platinum relics well that would be a 10/10 difficulty wise XD.

In my playtrough:

- I spend 16 hours to complete it (4 hours on high road alone)
- I probably died 1000 times (400 times on high road)
- collected 26 gems/2 keys/21 golden relics and 5 platinum ones.
- Rage quitted once
- Did not pick up my phone three times because I was to busy with the game.
- Slept only 4 hours
- And jumped 0 times on a polar boar.

With this in mind I give it a completionist Ranking of....Finish it!

The gems aren't that hard some levels are just a pain in the ass (like spinning a enemy into boxes and then find out n cortex symbol was in it and get lost)...The game could have used a restart level option instead of quitting the level and start it again X_X...

Surprisingly slipperly climb I got the gem in the first try and the gold relic aswell;

Yeah they could do with a restart in the start menu, like it has in time trials, especially for the colored gems.

I didn't have much trouble with Slippery Climb's colored gem either, I've got 3 of them so far, and the first one that's actually causing me an issue is the green one in lost city. T_T

BTW for high road you can actually skip some of the sections by walking along the ropes, didn't figure this out till I was pretty much at the end, luckily I only spent about 40 minutes on it though.

If you already finished a level but not got the gem yet I would advise to go for the relic first because you will know the level better and makest he gem a bit more easy..

And for high road I used the ropes it was still hard, I even uploaded my gameplay of me finishing it:

I got the gem in the first boulder level without dying on my first try, I think, and it wasn't even tough. The second one, on the other hand... Ugh! I'm going to replay the level in both the original and the remake to see if it's been changed. And I know about the coloured gems, it's a bit ridiculous considering the bonus levels as well, but should be doable with enough determination (and tries). Not sure I'm going to get all the gems though, it's a huge pain. I agree, the time trials are hard - but in my opinion, that goes well along the general difficulty of the game.

The bonus levels don't actually count. You don't lose a life if you die in there so it doesn't prevent you from earning the coloured gems, fortunately!

But yeah, some of the gems are going to be seriously hard!

Really? That should make The Lost City a lot easier! Also, Slippery Climb. I'm surprised my first death in the level occurred in the bonus level, and I died only two or three times after the bonus level. Should actually be relatively easy to get the gem if I can die in the bonus level.

My brother died so much on the native fortress stage one of the question mark blocks turned into an additional checkpoint, I didn't know that was even a thing.

I didn't know it either, but I noticed it too. Also, the boulder you run from in two levels becomes really slow if you're bad enough.

I am now at 96% only need two levels gem/Gold relic and am finished.

Completed World of final fantasy and got the platinum in it (including open all chest trophy X°X).
Because of that insane trophy hoped I could relieve stress with crash...nope XD.

Well, in general, the game isn't really difficult. It just requires you to be really, really careful. There's some actually difficult spots too, but they're pretty rare and not that difficult. It's just that the game is so unforgiving when you make mistakes. I definitely agree about the restart option.

Hey, I wasn't too far from getting the gem in Slippery Climb on my first run either! I didn't, though, and I might try again later, but I was surprised at how well that level went. Anyway, congratulations on your progress! I'm almost certainly not going to go that far myself because I have better use for my time.

If you expected to relieve stress with the first Crash, I would like to question your sanity. It's a great game but very unsuitable for relieving stress.

If this was a Nintendo remaster, the score would be 9, just saying.

I wish we know how much it sold already =p.

Anyway pro tip, don't worry about the relics in Crash 2, you get something after you beat the final boss that will help otherwise getting relics will be insane hard.

Have you played it?

That would be because the Crash trilogy pales in comparison to virtually every Nintendo platformer.

And even then Mario 64 DS only scored an 85.

The box does not say anything about being PlayStation 4 or PlayStation Console Exclusive at all. Just something I noticed.

Well more people deserve to play the game and suffer getting the relics imo.
