Hmm, I haven't heard the 3rd one. Where did that come from?

A user on here (forgot who) said Nintendo is clearly going third party because of this, and made a post saying this will hurt the Switch

If Nintendo could make a console that was more powerful than Xbox One X, sell it for $300.00 and still make the same great games they're making right now? It's hard to argue that they wouldn't clean house because you're covering all the bases. Right now, they've got a good thing going but just imagine if all the latest AAA third party games were on it as well. It would be the console to end all consoles.

The Gamecube was a powerful console, but look at what happened.

The Switch simply appeals to who Nintendo's audience is. People like their games on the go.

The Gamecube didn't use DVD-9 discs like the PS2 and Xbox and it also didn't have a full second analog stick. Games like GTA 3 would have been nearly impossible. That argument (Gamecube was powerful and it failed) has always been a total fail and it needs to stop being used. Power was not what killed the Gamecube. Limited media did it in.

1. Someone saying a Switch TV should be made. A console meant to be SWITCHABLE...locked to a TV ._.

Why not? Would be a cheaper device as well. Not everyone actually gives a crap about handhelds.

monocle_layton said:
2. The Switch apparently is weak because the Joycons. You know, it's totally not because it's $299 and the strongest handheld you can get with a 3 hour battery

And yet. The console could be more powerful. With longer battery life.

3. The SNES mini means Nintendo is going third party. Why? Well, because fuck you. That's why.

Do you have a link to someone making this kind of claim? Because it is nonsensical.

4. Switch is a flop because the PS4 (on pace to outsell the Wii) is being outsold. Not like it being a juggernaut and the Switch experiencing stock issues impacts it at all.

The Switch is far from a flop.

People gotta learn to not say dumb shit like this. I mean, come on. We're better than this. What are we, IGN? The youtube comment section?

It's only "dumb" in your opinion. Some of it is legitimate needs/wants/desires.

The gamecubes hardware wasn't what stopped it from being a sales powerhouse.

In-fact the Gamecubes hardware would eventually become the basis for the Wii anyway.

Exactly. The Gamecube failed not because of it's hardware capabilities but for a plethora of other reasons, like not adopting industry standards such as CD and DVD which was a big selling point for the Playstation 2.

Besides, going with more moderate hardware obviously does not guarentee success either. The Wii U being a prime example.

Contrary to popular belief you can have power, affordability, great games and be successfull. Sony did it this generation with the venerable Playstation 4.

You can make smart decisions and still be a dick hardcore gamers. Which is what Nintendo is doing to maximize profits.

Ah, an "everyone is wrong except me so I'm going to make a thread about it" thread.

Why not just argue with people you disagree with in the actual thread where they say the thing you disagree with?

I'm actually wrong quite often. I predicted the Wii U to sell 50 million, thought GTA 5 would be delayed for the eighth gen, thought the NX would be Nintendo's return to traditional gaming, and am not knowledgeable on the PC industry.

The difference however is that some of these claims sound more like satire than serious statements.

Never said I'm never wrong. We all get things incorrect, including me

We really don't need another standard gaming box but with the 3ds more likely than not winding down and the Vita being dead for the most part we do need a handheld. There's more to gaming then high powered home consoles

This. My filter is set to avoid the Nintendo and Politics forums and yet I am seeing this thread. Just debate the person who said that in that thread itself.

Nintendo likes doing thing there way
