Do a research, you'll see that the PS3 outsold the 360 on a regular basis.  That's an era of dominance?  I don't think those words mean what the writer thinks they mean.

Actually, looking it up, "wii60" mainly looks like a fanboy thing.

what? the 360 was dominating the ps3, sony started to do better years after. That's what he means with the wii60 era. Your "regular basis" was after that period and after the price cut with a bunch of exclusives. 360 was the hot toy thanks to the great price, xbox live, halo 3, gears of war  and better third party support. Let's not hide the true of how  bad the situation was for the PS3 back then.

Well, I mean, if your defintion of "era" is around two years, sure.

Are you kidding mate when did you start gaming as Wii60 was a common theme for the first half of gen 7 it wasn't even a fanboy thing either, 360 also demolished PS3 during that period it was only after heavy price cuts and getting their act together and Microsoft going down the suicidal Kinect route that PS3 came back.

"First half"?  And we have charts right here on this website, too.  It took about a year for the PS3 to catch up to the 360 in yearly sales and about another year to post better yearly sales for most of the generation.

I hope people know that this is all PR to discredit the competition. Behind the scenes Nintendo and Sony are both planning on how to annihilate each other. They hate each other.

They each target differnt demographics though.

Id say Sony & Microsoft are more alike, so naturally they have to compete as its usually a buy means 1 or the other.

Alot of people get a nintendo system, but also pick up a ps4 or xb1, or vice versa.

I think its much less common for people to get a PS4 & XB1.

Dont think Sony hates Nintendo, or plans to annihilate them.

Dominating the PS3? Started to do better years after?

I shall refer to a thread I made 2 and a half years ago..

There's only 2 races: White and 'Political Agenda'
2 Genders: Male and 'Political Agenda'
2 Hairstyles for female characters: Long and 'Political Agenda'
2 Sexualities: Straight and 'Political Agenda'

I hear this Jim Ryan says stupid things, yet this seems reasonable enough. It's healthier for the industry to have more than two near-identical big dogs actually competing for marketshare.

"Wii60" era? How does a writer for a video-game publication not know that the PS3 regularly outsold the 360?

wii60 was a real thing back then, do a research and you will see that wii60 was "the perfect combination"

"why should I buy a ps3 when I can buy a wii and a 360 for that kind of money!?" that's wii60.

I do recall this said in that past (like year 1 of the PS3) but I never thought it was a thing.

4 ≈ One

That's the only downside of Nintendo being stronger.

Well cannot really argue with the statement.

He is right, the industry itself is stronger when all its players are strong

duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

Depends sort of IMO. When you have too much competetion it leads to a situation where Sega is gone for example. And that wasn't good for gamers, we lost a really valuable part of gaming when Sega dissolved away.

Too many gaming options can be bad because a legitimately good one can end up getting less marketshare than they should.
