Forums - Nintendo - MS + Valve should use Switch to go portable (with cross platform play).

Or... get this... if Valve/MS wanted their games to be playable on handhelds..... they could make their own! In fact, isn't the Switch based closely off of the nVidia shield? What does MS/Valve need Nintendo for?

I don't know what's funnier. The idea of MS/Valve trying to compete with Nintendo at handhelds or comparing Switch to the Nvidia Shield.

Half Life 2 is on the Shield isn't it? Wonder how well that did.

Perhaps you should look at the arcitecture of the nVidia Shield K1 tablet and compare it to the Switch before you display such ignorance again. You do realize that nVidia had a hand in the development of the Switch, right?

So again, whar does MS/Valve need Nintendo for?

Nintendo should use MS and Valve to go stationary.

For the same reason Valve had their games on PS3/360 instead of making their own console or the same reason MS puts Office on iOS.

I suppose in a world where Nintendo has 3DS, Switch and another more powerful non-Switch compatible portable, MS and Valve making a handheld each could make sense. In the real world, MS is struggling to support their home console and dedicated Android gaming devices are less popular than PSVita.

Don't Play Stationary 4 ever. Switch!

If Steam wanted to take there business to portable markets they'd partner with Nvidia, as has been said.

Well, you two speak about different things. You talk about processing hardware, Pyro about concept and games. It's obvious why you two see it differently.

I don't mean Steam or Games for Windows going to Switch. This is about putting their IPs on a portable system (untapped market), to boost playerbase, game/DLC sales and increase the number of active users for their own respective online services (and to hurt their nearest rival).

Valve, MS and Nvidia can't support a dedicated handheld by themselves.

Oh, well that definitely won't happen with Valve, they can't be bothered making games anymore. They just sit on their ass and fiddle about with Steam while third-party's make them a crap-ton of cash.

Valve are making tons of cash by sitting back and letting content creators make items/mods for their games. I'm sure those content creators wouldn't object to 100m+ future Switch owners having access to their hats.

They don't need Nintendo. Won't happen

For the same reason Valve had their games on PS3/360 instead of making their own console or the same reason MS puts Office on iOS.

I'm curious to know what you think that reason is, especially with MS putting Office on iOS. I guarantee you the reason games like Left 4 Dead exist on Xbox 360 is a completely different reason why Office exists on OS X/iOS. So I'm curious why you put these two in the same sentence as if they're the same reason.
