Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo considering more Wii U games for Switch, against straight ports, approach to IPs

If they keep porting more Wii U games I will boycott Nintendo forever. This is screwing everyone who bought a Wii U.

No it's not. Having a Wii U game ported to the Switch doesn't invalidate all the fun you had with the original version of the game. Besides, there are a lot of people out there that have never gotten the chance to play them, especially since the Wii U was a failure.

Who cares what games they port?

Money talks.

Well, I cant see the riot from wii U owners, although they wouldnt need to buy the game again.
But just give discount to them. 60$ for the game, 30$ if you already have the digital game on wii U. Switch only owners would have access to the game, Wii U owners also would be happy with half price tag.

Id especially like hyrule warrios(add zelda botw content), xenoblade X, bayonetta 1 & 2, 3d world and DKCTF.
3DS's return of samus and mario sports would be very welcome too.

Hyrule Warriors with all the DLC and the extra stuff from Legends - playable on the go. If you add also BOTW-stuff, this is even more great. >eah, I would buy again. Alone to be able to play a session on the train.

Screw that, makes sequels. If you guys really wanted Wii U games you should've bought a Wii U.

But I have a Wii U already. I want to play Xenoblade Chronicles X and Bayonetta 2 on the go!

This on the go part is very enticing. It brings more options to the game, therefore making buying it again a better option as if Nintendo just had put out another home console with more power. In that case I had mostly no interest in the ports.

Seriously. Forget the salty fans- if it means more people get to enjoy legendary games such as Mario Kart or Mario Maker, then so be it

Buy a Wii U, I'm allowed to be as salty as I want. Taking away from new games just to make stupid ports.

Only ports don't take away. Ports are very easy to do. A remaster (higher resolution and stuff) might be more problematic, but a port from WiiU to Switch would not involve work on the models and textures. That only needs a very small team and a short time. But it makes more money, that can finance new content.

Nintendo should just release a single disc (edit: cartridge) game called "The Wii U Collection" on Switch and get all these ports over with in one single release.

Its contents include:

Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze

Pikmin 3

Bayonetta 2

Yoshi's Wooly World

The Wonderful 101

All running at 1080p now on Switch.

Priced at $100.

No i'm not serious.

Of course not. The opening line gave it away. Releasing a disc game on Switch... hilarious.

Fuck, I forgot for a second that Switch uses cartridges and not discs when making my dumbass post.

donkey kong tropical freeze with extra stages would be great

Bayonetta 2 plz.

Xenoblade Chronicles X, do it!
