I will go bold. 6.35 million global. Bump later to laugh me.

That's more like it. This prediction is not so out there, if it sells to the japanese base AND can grow in the west.

what would possibly suggest to you that this is going to sell to Japan? similar looking Western Games don't magically do great in Japan. I'm not sure why you would think a non portable Monster Hunter that doesn't involve the most popular Japanese part of the franchise (local multiplayer) wouldn't haven't a massive effect on how they buy it. It will.

This entirely falls on the West for this title

If your prediction becomes true you won't see another Monster Hunter on PS4/XB1/PC.

3m for a game like this would be very profitable.

I think they'd continue to release them and release a seperate portable version on Switch too.

Overall the best way to maximise sales.

you make these claims based on what? Resident Evil 7 probably had less development cost than an open world Monster Hunter would, yet they've considered a couple million a failure for it (based on Capcom's own comments).

You're talking out of your ass on things we have no idea of. Capcom clearly is hoping this is a big hit with Western Audiences so it will obviously need to be to considered a success

I'll say in the 2-3m range.

PSn - greencactaur
Nintendo Switch FC - SW - 5152 - 6393 - 5140 Please feel free to add me :)

It's funny you say I'm talking out my ass and then go onto say what capcom are think like you know!

My post is my opinion on what will happen. Time will tell but you can't prove me wrong now now matter what you say.

10-50k.

Okay, maybe 50k is a little too low. If Capcom heavily promotes this game, it might get close to 100k.

If it also gets a Switch release later on, I think it can easily do 16 million.

No,it will do 100 millions on switch.

That's certainly possible, but it will depend on the popularity of the Switch.

atleast 2 copies - my flatmate and I (my first MH) are going to pick it up

Well, nothing really, I don't know which direction it will go. I fear it will lose on the japanese base, but it isn't impossible it stays the same, PS4 is a console well liked in Japan. But in the threads about it, many claim that this series finally will gain if not hold back by mobile hardware (therefore the decision to skip Switch is a good one). To that being true, it shouldn't lose the established base.

3.2 million.

Will at the very least sell a couple 100k on PC, perhaps nearly a million on the PS4 in Japan alone, factor in some extra western growth. Sure.
