Shocking. I think Sony and MS were tied at average but the people have spoken.

Deception LOL They had exclusive clearly listed for their actual exclusive games. And console launch exclusive for everything else. YouTube is a terrible reference for anything. You can find thousands of people in YouTube who believe Sandy Hook was a hoax or that the Earth is flat. In the end, who cares. There was nothing deceptive about calling something launch exclusive. It literally means exclusive for the games launch. Is Nintendos spotlight technically a conference? Otherwise I don't see how the answer is anything but MS. |
What else would you call it?
Muddying the waters? A milder form of essentially the same thing? An announcer booming "exclusive" each time, as various messages of the exclusive state of the game flashed over the screen at the start of each video.
Just PR shenanigans really with the deliberate goal of deflecting from the fact there was very real exclusive material. Picked up very fast by commenters here, and all across the streams.

I guess you could call it deceptive to anyone who is blind and couldn't see "console launch exclusive" in giant letters on the screen :)

No hes more of a Sony guy. Also the amount of people voted in Geoff's poll is more than all those polls you showed combined. |
I know, but these were the first 3 sources when I googled it.
If you would make a poll on EA their website, it would probably say that EA has won. So I'd say that the number of polls on different websites is more important than the number of voters.
That's why I was asking if he's a Microsoft guy, because otherwise the results seem kind of odd. I mean, almost everywhere on the internet people seem to think that Sony's presentation was at least as good as Microsoft's.

A conference that talked about basically no exclusives won even against Nintendo, yeah that will totally make X1 outsell PS4 2:1 like the poll and not the other way around when we are seeing real world.

Because the public surely knows the difference between the 10 different exclusive terms MS uses... IGN stream there were a lot of uninformed folks thinking that all that was only ever going to show on Xbox.

By saying that you're actually doing a disservice to the ingenuity of the very people you're defending.

Not defending anyone, just laughing at deception :)

Which is to deceive, ie. give someone a mistaken impression by design.
In that case, why was the media asking Phil Spencer to clarify the meaning of the new terminology? If it was readily apparent, understandable and served no other purpose?
You see, it's either their choice of wording and presentation was really poor and required further explanation, or it was deliberate and served an objective.
Even the media was having difficulty.
