This is the best source we got from the other romurs that goes around. First of all Retro studios new mature game is probaly going to be a 3d game even if I hope its going to be a new fps game.

I'm going to laugh if it turns out to be a 3D Diddy (not Donkey) Kong platformer. Donkey Kong is going to be a big part of the Universal Studios attractions, I think Nintendo is going to definitely want a major new DK-family game in the next couple of years.

That's a rumor from April of last year. I think if Retro was really launching something this year, we would've almost certainly heard about it at E3.
