Forums - Gaming - E3 - What do you think your assessment of each of the big press conferences will be?

Sony - The last two years have been unbelievable. They seem to have learned to trim the fat, try new things (live orchestra) and have absolutely nailed the pacing. However, they've had a lot of new projects to show the past 2 years. I feel this E3 will be a review of many previously announced titles with only one or two new surprises. So new gameplay of exciting games, but with only minimal surprises. It won't reach the dizzying heights of their previous two E3 shows but will still be very entertaining. 7/10.

Microsoft- This one is so hard to judge. What do MS have up their sleeve? If they've managed to secure some big new IP from some second party studios or first parties we don't know about, this could be a very exciting conference. With new hardware on the way, their will be an obvious focal point, but they need to push way beyond the boring pre-exiting franchises they've leant so heavily on in the past to generate some real excitement outside of the traditional xbox fanbase. I'll be optimistic and say they've learnt from their mistakes, and give it an 8/10.

Around the Network

Bethesda - mainly dependent on whether Elder Scrolls proper is there. If it is, alongside Wolfenstein II and maybe Evil Within 2, it would be an 8/10. If they have an additional something on top of that, could be 9/10. Without ES, would probably struggle to get above a 6/10

MS - have no interest in Scorpio given how little I play my regular one, so not hyped for that. Expecting a Halo 7 story trailer, quick Forza announcement, which is nothing particularly exciting. I honestly don't know if they have a AAA first party dev that isn't already tied to a franchise or has something already announced like Crackdown. Maybe Banjo will be there, although twitter teases are often just jokes. Think we will see more of SoT, but I'm not seeing anything there that interests me. I'm anticipating a 4/10. If they have a surprise new AAA IP that isn't money-hatted from an existing franchise that looks good, could be a 6/10

Sony - looking forward to seeing Spiderman gameplay, God of War and Days Gone will be story trailers I think to flesh out the wider goings-on with what is happening in those games. Sony have said that there is a big Japanese presence at the show, and that excites me. Could be Monster Hunter World, could be DMC5, could be Bloodborne II as rumours continue that they have another From exclusive. If either of the latter two are announced, that will be huge for me. Sucker Punch new IP is exciting too, I'm glad they are moving from inFamous, at least for now. Maybe brief bits on Detroit, Ni No Kuni II, GT Sport, Uncharted whatever-it's-called, KNACK 2. Don't think Last of Us II will be there. Will be at least a 7/10 even with no huge surprises, because the line-up looks really nice to me.

Nintendo - hype deflated a bit after knowing it's only going to be 25 minutes. Mario looks good, but not really much more to show for that kind of game. Maybe more Xenoblade II. I think Pikmin World will be announced, and I would really like at least one big game newly announced, preferred would be Pokemon Stars. COuld be a 5/10, could be an 8/10 with a few new games that I want. I want Nintendo to convince me to buy one this holiday

Microsoft 10/10

Nothing else matters.

Microsoft: I haven't lost all hope. They could still surprise us with a whole bunch of new exclusive titles. But I doubt it. I think they will talk ages about all dat Teraflops and shit.

4/10

Sony: Sony are absolutely shit when it comes to keeping stuff secret. I haven't heard anything about this years E3 of them, which leads me to believe they have nothing mind blowing. A little god of war here, a little Last of Us there. But I don't think there will be massive new announcements.

4/10

Nintendo: If they show something new from Mario Galaxy, that's enough for me! I am seriously hyped for that game. I think it's also most likely we will see something new from them with the Switch and everything. It would now be the time to announce all the games for the holidays. I don't expect too many heavy hitters though and a lot pf ports.

5/10

Now I see why  MS conference will be the only  10 out of 10 conference. LOL

I hope they bring it. I really do. Cant wait.
