Forums - Gaming - Will Bayo 2 remain WiiU exclusive?

BTW The real question is if Bayo 3 will be exclusive to Nintendo Switch

I think that's unlikely.  The series has the potential to be huge, if the next game is multiplat and very good.  I can't see Nintendo paying the kind of money it would take for it to make sense for Sega to keep it off of the platforms with far larger install bases.

With that said, if the game is still a few years away, and Switch continues to sell well, I guess its possible.  But, if the game will release before the end of 2018, I'd say its almost certainly multiplat.

If it were to return, I figure it would be on the Switch, since Nintendo play a big hand in having this game made. Bayo 3 seems more likely to be multiplat.

I will be okay if Bayonetta 2 doesn't get ported since I already own and played the Wii U version, BUT...

... do we really know the exact contractual terms between Platinum Games and Nintendo? Can we be 100% sure that Nintendo owns the rights to Bayonetta 2 instead of just a time exclusivity of X years? Do we really know that Platinum Games lost all their rights to Bayonetta 2 forever? Or are these just wild guesses?

You will see then if it just wild guesses. Just don't say I didn't tell you first and don't hold your breath. Lol

I don't have to hold my breath, I can play Bayonetta 2 every day on my Wii U (and Bayonetta 1 in awesome quality settings on my PC). But thanks for the confirmation that your claim of "Nintendo owning the rights to Bayonetta 2" is your opinion and not a proven fact. Lol

That's ridiculous and insane! The platform has 3 months so far. Just because we don't get the ~western AAA~ (so far), it don't mean Switch has no games! Just this week, 8 games (that I remember) as announced.

It's the same if I say "VITA HAS NO GAMES" just beceuse don't get western releases. But the japanese games are there. So the Switch. And also getting from big japanese compannys, and small-medium western's developers.

There are about 220 games known/released so far for the Switch, 3 months into its life. It's like it needs 1000 games within the first 3 months of its life to be considered having games. It's crazy how some have these types of expectations. How many games do you want within the first 3 months? If you are asking for more, I would like to know how much you're earning cause I would like that kind of money as well. As well as the time to play.

And how many of those games are indie games or ports of old games? When people say it doesn't have many 3rd party games, they clearly refer to recent AAA games like COD, Battlefield, Assassin's Creed, etc. This might change one day, though.

From what I can gather, Tecmo had to make changes to Ninja Gaiden 2 to release it on the PS3.  It's why the blood is blue.  Supposedly

That's a forum rumor that doesn't make any legal sense.  Such a minor cosmetic change would never hold up in court as differentiated enough to not violate a publisher's copyright.

That's why I said supposedly :P.  Though I'm sure them adding a subtitle might have been able to get them out of legal trouble, depending on what their contract with MS states.

Bayo2 won't release on PS4. Time to accept and move on

The only system it would be coming to is switch.

If blood color or a subtitle were enough to bypass a copyright, MS would have fired that copyright lawyer....and probably sued them for lost revenue.

The content itself, characters, story, art, etc...are always part of the copyright.   I cannot imagine a scenario where those are unintentionally left out by a legal team or willfully not included at the behest of the copyright holder.

The IP belongs to Tecmo, MIcrosoft funded the game and published it.  Microsoft can't copyrite anything in there as they don't own the IP and I doubt Tecmo's lawyers would put assets in a in a contract.  The best Microsoft would have been able to do is to put wording to keep the game itself since they have a vested interest in it.  Obviously Microsoft's lawyers didn't care enough to go into great length to prevent Ninja Gaiden 2 Sigma and Tecmo made enough changes for whatever is in their contract for it to not hold up in court.

I hope not.

Very ready for a Switch port.

I think if bayo 3 is released exclusively on the switch, then bayo 2 and bayo 1 might be rerelease on the switch as a bundle
