7 Million sold between January 1st and June 11th, sales definitely aren't down, and considering the second half of the year sales are always bigger there's a good chance this will be PS4's best selling year yet.

That's what I was thinkign as well. I was just lost as to why he kept saying PS4 sales were likely down when data said it was up.

I'm guessing its the same reason why he thinks that Sony is going to lose Japanese support to the Switch in Japan all of a sudden.

The "closest" means it was the least units off, of all 3.

Lets say  the real numbers where like:

200k PS4, 190k NSW, and 100k XB1.

That would mean that user guessed 15k wrong on PS4, 5k on Switch, and 2k on the XB1 = 22k off total.

That could still be the "best" / " closest" guess anyone made, even if it did have NSW>PS4, which we know isnt true.

So using Neogaf predictions the gap should be pretty close with PS4 and Switch.

The PS4 seems to be down YOY which isnt much of a surprise since Uncharted 4 came out last year.

XBO sold about the same or is down by a few thousand units.

Not necessarily, since only 2 people had the PS4 above the Switch, so it's really hard to tell where the Switch landed.



Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

Yea but the closest predictions the gap between PS4 and Switch were close.

The Switch could be sub 150k and the NeoGAF rankings would be the same. The PS4 however can't be much higher than 190k.

Relax. Read what he said again. He expected PS4 to win May.

 

He then predicts it'll win June and then from September onward. Switch should win July due to splatoon 2. Probably August as well.
