11 million.

This, with Switch version included.

So you're expecting around 5 million on the 3DS version?

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

Lower end of this, if that. Wouldn't be surprised if this sold very poorly for a Pokemon. I've never seen a worse reveal reaction for a pokemon game in my life.

i dont think we can base anything off of reveal reaction, thats just a vocal minority of people bitter about it not being on Switch.

It will sell similar to the 4 previous expanded releases just like Sun/Moon sold similar to the last 4 new generations.

I don't think it's just the Switch. It's the fact that the game is just an alternate story, something we haven't had since Platinum, and something that's been universally recognized as a good thing. This is being seen as a regression in a way that wasn't as impactful back then. This is not a vocal monority situation here. This is tangible fatique.

yet there is no data to show fatigue as Crystal, Emerald, Platinum & Black 2/White 2 all sold a similar amount.

10 million, since they seem to be trying to set it up as a Black 2 and White 2 situation. Maybe less if it turns out to be closer to Crystal or Emerald.

Why is everyone salty? Prior to today, there was no confirmation of any Pokemon games on Switch at all. This is the Pokemon Z nonsense all over again.

That's what I'd like to know too lol.

As for guessing sales, based on previous performances I'd guess 7-8m

Everybody wanted a port on a system they very likely don't have. People are weird.

B2W2 was a sequel and sold the most, and Crystal, Emeral, and Platinum (my favorite Pokemon game of all time and the best example of this practive), were made before people we're exposed to the superior alternative. I'm not saying there's third version fatigue. I'm saying there's redundant game release fatigue. Like I said, there's never been a Pokemon game announcement that has recieved a negative reaction - period. If this was S2M2, or Red2Blue2 like people wanted, there would have only been a slight dissapointment, but the same setting with largely the same story taking place at the same time after we've had three generations without that is not what anyone wanted, and it shows.

you are ignoring that B2/W2 are the only ones that had 2 versions and it only sold ~4% more than Platinum, that can easily be from double dippers.

you are drawing conclusions with lack of any data to lrove them. the majority of negativity is from it being 3DS exclusive.

and since most people were expecting Stars (a 3rd version of Sun/Moon with minor enhancements) i would assume you are incorrect about fatigue of such a game.

I guess we'll see.

I'll guess less than B2W2. Maybe 7 mil or so.
