I don't think it's just the Switch. It's the fact that the game is just an alternate story, something we haven't had since Platinum, and something that's been universally recognized as a good thing. This is being seen as a regression in a way that wasn't as impactful back then. This is not a vocal monority situation here. This is tangible fatique.

yet there is no data to show fatigue as Crystal, Emerald, Platinum & Black 2/White 2 all sold a similar amount.
