Forums - Gaming - How long have some of your new game binges gotten?

I played Transport Tycoon for thousands of hours and I still play it today. The same is true for Mega Man X, the best game ever and the only game where I am able to do a speedrun. I also discovered The Binding of Isaac in 2014 and continue to play it until today. Got the platinum already and 1001% in Afterbirth but I'm still playing. Total play hours should be aroumd 400. I also played every single Civ game since Civilization 2 Gold for at least 100 hours.

Zelda BotW kept me up till early morning, yet I could do that as I had the luxury of going back to bed after dropping the kids off for school. Now I'm limited again by having to be up and stay up early, but still kept going until 3am with Farpoint and now Bridge crew. Luckily there's coffee.

My worst game binges when when I was much younger. 18 hour Everquest and WoW sessions were common in the weekends. All nighters with civilization, sim cities, ..... tycoon, tropico, etc. I need to stay away from those kind of games nowadays!

Hmm, school and the like has made it hard to do that. I did play a lot of the Wii when I first got it, though, I remember that. I was obsessed with that thing.

Recently? Longest session is 2hrs max. Work and life get in the way these days v.v

I put 96 hours into Persona 5 in the span of 4 weeks, and I already put in like 30 hours into it the past 3 days.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

FFXIV, +6 hours I think

Shenmue II 2003. 24 hours straight. Dunno what the total hours were.
Xenoblade 2011 19 hours straight. After that multiple 10 hour sessions. 600 total hours.
Dragon Age Origins. 18 hours. 2015. A few 8 hours sessions later. 3-400 hours total.
Xenoblade Chronicles X multiple 15+ hour sessions straight. Why I have 800 hours into it. 2015.

Only breaks I took were bathroom breaks. No sleep no food in those sessions outside of snacking.

So you ruined the experience, congrats.

I would never binge on a story heavy game, I wanna experience all of it when I'm in a great state, not being hungry, sleepy or having my eyes hurt. So when I start a great game from the likes of Sir Yu Suzuki sama, I want a good night's sleep, my eyes to function 100% and my stomach to be full. I also want to savor every moment and reflect on it during the breaks, I want it to last as long as possible.

The only times binging works is when you're grinding or playing a long ass rpg.

I started playing DCUO at launch and didn't stop until two years ago.

I took a week off following the release of ME: A. I personally loved the game, and ended up spending roughly 70 hours playing in the span of 6 days. While it was fun and all, I probably won't be doing that for a while.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

Story wise I wasn't that far in in that session. I was mainly exploring and seeing all the things I could do.

Most extreme example that comes to mind was Breath of the Wild. I would get home from work at 5, start gaming after chores and dinner at 6, and then just find out it's suddenly 10pm. It might not be the longest binge, but it's a bit scary how that game devoured my time like that. In no way did it feel like I was playing for 4 hours.
