I don't doubt that Nintendo's solution will be similarly clunky, but right now you all should bash Hori and not Nintendo (yet).

Guys, just use a phone app. Seriously. The headset looks awesome but the setup for this looks far too complex.

This Discord thing I've heard about, is there a phone app for that? Just use that or any other app for talking.

There are work arounds i suppose, but it's still kinda puzzling how clunky or complex Nintendo is making this very common feature out to be. I'd be really interested why they went for this design.

Nah, I'll just not buy this which is a shame. The headset looks sweet.

They're telling people to just use a free phone app. That's the message I'm getting.

Ah Nintendo, where trying to be different automatically means you're better.

I know the accesory itself is licensed, but seriously, what is this?

It's a product officially endorsed by nintendo, apparently you can even get this headset as an item in Splatoon 2. Also why would a third-party headset connect to a smartphone if it wasn't required?

There's plenty of reason to bash Nintendo already. This essentially confirms voice-chat is done through your Smartphone and not the Console, which is insane.

What in the actual fuck Nintendo...

The Switch is shaping up to be my primary console for multiplat games for portability purposes, but this shit is a hige set back. I had a feeling it was coming, but I had no idea it would be this bad!

Yes, there's a phone app for Discord, but that wouldn't be integrated with the Switch itself, which means you can only do online chat with people that you planned to do it with beforehand.

I'm pretty sure PS4 can do all of it wireless.

Not with friggin' bluetooth it can't! It won't work with my goddamn SONY Bluetooth headset until this very day. I used the same exact headset on the PS3 for years and it worked flawlessly. Not anymore! Ok, maybe it's too old, how about some new SONY headphones from 2016? Nope, sorry, won't work! But yeah, why in the world should a SONY headset work with a fuckin' SONY console?!

Sorry, I'm still a little fucking pissed off because of the shitty bluetooth support on PS4. I'm using bluetooth headsets on steam and it works like a charm. Until now, I couldn't use a single headset on the PS4. Not the official PS3 bluetooth headset, not the Sony MDR-1RBT, not the Sony MDR-1ABT, not the Bose SoundLink OnEar, nothing. I always have to wear that shitty headset that was in the box underneath my good headphones. Plus I have a fucking cable hanging on my controller. I hate cables.

Screw you, Sony!

The PS3 BD remote controls don't work with the PS4. It's done a purpose. They just want you to buy new shit. I feel sorry for iPhone 7 people. Gotta use that addon.

This is just ridiculous. We're in 2017 and nintendo is still dropping the ball on this...

There needs to at least come some sort of bluetoothdongle so that this can be used in docked mode, but in all honesty if this is true I don't think nintendos voice chat will be used much no matter what they do.

In before nintendo drops the voicechat function because nobody uses it. "There isn't demand for it, as shown with the switch."

I wonder if this is a world record. The Switch might actually be the only mobile device released in the past 5 years without bluetooth.

Even your freaking refrigerator has bluetooth nowadays.
