4 years and still a beast, I'm still blown away every time I see it on a top 10 sellers list

They compete for different markets really, there will only be a small overlap. Although it's really impressive that the Switch can sell these numbers with virtually zero major third party support. |
I never said it wasn't but the constant complaints about Sony only being able to sell consoles if the competition does screw up and Sony being done for when the competition release a console are getting pretty lame. The Switch is doing really well and hopefully continues to do so. I doubt the Swirch is going to have a really negative impact on PS4 numbers, because it even sold over 200k a week when the Switch launched. The Switch does well and so does the PS4. The PS4 seems to be winning this year and might lose next year, but that won't be because of the Switch but because 2018 is it's fifth year on the market. Although all these theories that there is no room on the market anymore for traditional consoles is getting milked as much as the ... company is doomed.
Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

At the time of writing ps4 holds the top 10 spots.
1. Psn card 2. Psn card 3. Psn card 4. Psn card 5. Psn card 6. Psn card 7. Psn card 8. Psn card 9. Psn card 10. Psn card This sort of domination is noteworthy because a very successful console launch has just taken place. It highlights how successful psn card continues to be. |

Besides, this time Sony will likely go into the next transition as the leader, so it shouldn't lead to significant amounts of platform hopping. As for your other point, that's a pretty big "if" you're basing it on. The user bases should have to be reversed pretty much, because third parties know their math. Also, portability will always have its limits because stationary is the way to go if you truly want to immerse yourself or play competitively, instead of just killing time with your small screen and limited specs while commuting. |
Sony's been playing on easy in the home console market for the past few years because MS and Nintendo didn't bother to turn up. PS2 to Wii/PS3/360 showed us how fickle/disloyal PS fans can be when the competition offers a compelling product.
Switch can act as a home console too.

Don't Play Stationary 4 ever. Switch!

Wow, so you're actually suggesting Nintendo/MS "didn't bother" with the XBO/WiiU.
Yes that's why the WiiU failed, because Nintendo weren't trying. If they actually tried they'd win.

OK, they turned up but they decided to piss in their fan's faces instead of offering a product their fans wanted. Had MS left Kinect 2.0 out and made the system more powerful instead they wouldn't have spent the following years undoing all the damage it caused and Sony wouldn't be dominating the gen. Sony's easy to beat so long as you don't go stupid crazy like Sega/Nin/MS have all done at some point. 3DS managed it no problem.

Yes Sony is easy to beat, history has proved that. By the end of the ps4's life they'll only have the top 3 best selling home consoles of all time.
But yes they may hold all the records, but they're still easy to beat in the home-console space.
What are you on mate?
