Looks kinda bland and boring. I feel like DriveClub is still miles ahead of GT Sport

Drive club is just an amazing looking game, GTS/Forza all look very sterile compaired to DC that looks like friggin film.

And love how DC feels fast as F also, hard to tell with a youtube video I'll have to wait to make a real comparison to DC

I've seen a bit of FH and those usually look fairly colorful. Still, I guess DC made the right choice in focusing 30fps but better graphics than 60fps (unless that has changed) cause it looks fantastic to this day, specially with rain.

Strange! DF were very positive about the game and we know how nitpicky they can be.

Not the video I watched. Basically boils down to the same issues GT has had for generations now. Cars = great. Everything else = meh.

Personally I would gladly sacrifice some detail in the cockpit view for a new physics engine and improved AI/sound.

Same issue it's had for generations? Erm ok. GT5 was probably the first time people complained about  scenery graphics but I suppose it depends on your taste. And I think you need to play the game to judge the physics and not watch videos.

As it stands DF are impressed by the beta. Frames drop to mid 50s with 15 other cars on the screen and some of the shadows look dodgy. Other than that, they say the game is technically impressive. Not bad for a beta.

I wasn't selected for the Beta so I hate all you guys.

Am I crazy or do the graphics look kind of meh? I hope for the GT fans sakes that it only looks like this in the beta, that some graphical upgrades are planned in the final release. These beta graphics are a far cry from the bullshot gifs that Polyphony released:

Those are not bullshot but replay footage

All Racing games today have replay footage that looks that good. Thats the problem, GTS is suppose to be the latest Sim Racer out there and so far judging from its ingame footage (Not a boosted Replay Footage) its nothing mind blowing especially if you played Project Cars and Forza 6.

In saying that, it doesnt make GTS a bad game, its just visual appeal isnt anything to boost about especially since everyone kept claiming this game was going to destroy the others in the graphic departments.

Its biggest problem is content which is what hurt Forza 5 on launch and dropping frame rate, for a Sim racer that is unacceptable.

The top comment of the video says all i want to say:

why the fuck game look so dated. all the ps guys i am ps guy myself but u cant damage control of what looks like shit and lazy.

I disagree. No other racing game has replay footage that looks this good. Both in replay and actual gameplay the lighting and material of the cars look amazing, unlike any other racing game. It makes it really look realistic and life like. This is what DF also notes.  Problem is that the environments just don't compare. Neither is any other sim racer good in that department, semi sim racer Driveclub is only game on point.

Another problem with GT is that it's managed real tight by its creator Kaz, I dont think many complaints in the West reach the team in Japan. PD is a really small team for what they make, Turn10 is twice as large. They finally fixed the sounds tho.

Wish PD expand so they make bigger games, faster. Also make some spinoffs like Tourist Trophy again, or GT Sport Horizon!

Have you seen the replay footages on other Sim Racers? I cant talk for Project Cars but i will talk on behalf of Forza 6. Its replay footage looks just as good and its simple to do because they add more detail and effects in the footage to make it look better than what you actually play. GTS does the same thing here where they twick there settings higher for that mode. Its nothing new and differently i wouldnt put it past FM6 from what iv seen, more like on par.

True the lighting is better in GTS however there is alot more to a game than good lighting. FM6 lighting is still good in comparison.

Sim racer dropping frame rate is poor development. Avoid this on Pro if your looking for a true sim experience. Standard PS4 will do.

Hey, guess what? It's a freaking beta, complain all you want if these frame drops are present on release day...

Honestly 1800p checkerboard isn't even a huge jump from native 1080p considering twice the GPU power in the Pro, they will eliminate these drops.

I hope they will get it to checkerboard 2160p like Guerilla did with Horizon which was going to be checkerboard 1800p as well.

That would be twice the pixel count of 1080p and checkerboarding makes it look even better than normal "1530p" does.

I base my judgment on what iv been shown not what i assume will be fixed.

In your case i hope your right however i wouldnt be expecting a native 4k at 60 frames. Horizon is a 30frame game running at 4k, not 60.

Ill be happy to wait and see the final results.

It shouldn't matter that Horizon is 30 fps game cause it's 1080p 30 fps on normal PS4 and 2160c 30 fps on PS4 Pro.

Same thing with GT Sport, 1080p 60 fps and potential to hit 2160c 60 fps. But least they could do is make 1800c stable which they must.

I'm not expecting native 4K but checkerboard 4K (2160c which has twice the pixel count of 1080p)

You are right and i agree however if GTS is struggling to achieve 1800p at 60 i highly doubt they can achieve native 4k at 60 without down tuning the visuals. I guess they can always do that which i think will be smarter than playing 4k with dips because again this is a Sim racer.

Standard PS4 game play . Really beautiful.

I think it all comes down to optimizing the engine, the game doesn't look super demanding, I'm sure they will fix these drops.

Also you should mention Checkerboard or C when you say 4K or 1800p or 2160p.

I'm talking 4,2 million pixels here (3840*1080) not 8,3 million (3840*2160)

It's not true 1800p either.

My point still is if its struggling to do 1800p checkerboarding i doubt they can optimise the game for more pixels if its already dipping. They can probably fix the dipping before launch but to boost the resolution further at this stage of beta will be a challenge thats for sure. However not impossible.

As for the game not pushing, Horizon doesn't use realistic physics and many other things while GTS is pushing for realism and thats always going to be more demanding. Remember its not whats shown on the screen to prove which game is pushing more. Its the little things. World of Warcraft at Max settings on 4k doesnt look like much yet it will eat your hardware up.
