Got Tekken 7 (PC) to play with the GF, I spent most of the weekend watching her play. We both haven't played fighting games, a part Smash Bros for me, in years ^^ She played two hours online and I'm impressed by the fluidity of the online maches. I've a very good connection and we found players in a matter of minutes.

Since she/we haven't played a lot, we haven't understood every mechanics at all, online is not really balanced and we played against very skilled players.

Overall I'm happy with the game. Offline is interesting. Tried the story mode and its packed with cinematics, played a few rounds but it was boring so came back to arcade.

In the case of the unranked stuff, yeah, you'll get really good players fighting newbies mainly because they like to do that. I found it very common in Tag 2, I could tell who was good and who wasn't. i'm glad your online has been good. I finally just got in a few games and won all of them by going to player matches and searching lobbies, can't get in a ranked at all. I have a great connection but just never connects to people yet when I got in the lobby it worked there... when I got in.

Glad you are enjoying it none the less.

Hmm, pie.

So... people having online issues like me? 30 minutes of sitting in Player match practice clicking 'Yes' and seeing lost connection is... tiresome.

I have been having those issues every single time i try to get into a match. Player or ranked.......it is annoying

I was having great success with tournaments. Update a list, find a  lobby with a good connection and at least 50 % full and try and get in those. They work great. Well I say that, it's still up to the host to start it and if the host loses and quits the entire thing stops. i Went into 2, got disconnected from one but came second in the other.

Hmm, pie.

Guys, Tekken 7 has serious online issues. It's being worked on, but the PS4 version is suffering the most. The PC version is the best place to play the game. Today, I've had a much better time getting matches, and I didn't have a single dropped connection. However, on PS4, no one in my room could fight. each other. Except me, at least.

Things seem to be an issue on PS4 when it's a full lobby. Set it down to 3-4 users. Maybe private match. Players joining a room while others are fighting can cause issues too.

Don't immediately ready-up when it's your turn. Let the clock wind down to 25 seconds. I have better success when I wait those extra five seconds. If you're on wifi, don't try to host. You'll have a better chance trying to join someone elses room who's on a wired connection.

That's everything I've noticed, after playing the game for 50 hours now.

added a review at the bottom of my 2nd post. i'll dress it up eventually so you can tell what it's supposed to be. Adding to what harada is saying, he also mentioned hiding users information in ranked, because people are running scared from others they know they can't beat.

There are currently some mathmaking issues that Namco are aware of, and will fix soon, they said.

Also, this was pretty hype: https://gfycat.com/OblongAmpleCranefly

Cool, good to know.

That's a good end to a fight. I also was wondering when I'd see the first 'cheese' gameplay online and it seems to me it's Akuma I played him twice online and already worked out of the first time his Rage Art is blockable but still hits. I side stepped the 3rd time they used it, but presume you can jump it too.

You say that like people are get into ranked games. Everyone I say yes to is a Beginner... always 'lost connection' straight away though. :P

Best fighter ever? wow
It looks more in line with Tekken 5 (which is great) than Tekken 3, so I wouldn't go that far, but it certainly does look good xD

I play a wide variety of fighting games.  Mortal Kombat X, comes close, and so does Injustice 2, but Tekken 7 edges them both out.  Not by leaps and bounds, as those are also really good fighters, Tekken 7 is the best.  It makes Tekken 6 unplayable, and Tekken Tag Tournament 2, just an okay game.

Tekken 3 is a game that came out on the first playstation.  Tekken 5 is a game that came out on PS2.

The game is a lot more balanced.  There are more characters, the graphics look better, the movement is realms beyond anything imagineable on PS1.  There also weren't any walls in Tekken 3.  No  bound, and no tailspin either.

It looked good. (for its time) and it wasn't as stiff as nails like Tekken 1 & 2.   And, Tekken 5 was just redemption because Tekken 4 was bad according to most.  Personally, I liked 4.  TTT2 wasn't a bad game.  It was just way too complicated, and just had too much of everything, and Tekken 7 is miles ahead of that game.  Whereas, Tekken 6, was just marginally better than Tekken 5.  Which ended up having me extremely disappointed with Tekken 6.

But those two tekken games that people liked came after bad games.  Tekken 7 didn't and still knocks tekken tag 2 down.

They REALLY need to fix the online for PS4 I have been able to play only 3 ranked matches and 4 player matches since Thursday night. They need to sort this crap out asap.

I'm 1 trophy off Platinum now (probably easiest plat I've ever got) and guess what it is, 'Win 1 Ranked Match', it just doesn't work ever. No matter what I try.

Oh well, played a few tournaments last night, second, second and 4th. I really don't like fighting against Feng Wei (hints to I kept losing to), I don't like the way his moves stutter and therefore confuse me.

Hmm, pie.

I've encountered problems online as well but I just waited and eventually I got into matches more often. It seems that the problem in my case is that my connection quality is being displayed as 0 bars instead of 5 bars which is what's displayed on my screen. Whenever I get into a tournament, I get kicked off it because of what's displayed on my stats despite me seeing a full 5 bar connection on my screen. A player even commented to kick me off because of my supposed poor connection quality. I know my connection is great because whenever I do get into a match, the match ends up being very smooth and lag free if I end up with someone with 4 bars and up.

Also when it says "connection has been lost" that usually means you got rejected, again probably because of the same problem as mine. So what I do in ranked matches is that I just wait for people to challenge me instead of me choosing the players to challenge myself.

Anyway, this is indeed the best Tekken has ever been in terms of gameplay and its approach to its story mode. Many are unfortunately not familiar with the Tekken story, I think, so they heavily criticize the story(not saying it's great cause it's not. LOL. It's okay and it's very fun to follow for how shallow it is). Tekken 7's story happens directly after the events of Tekken 6 so the objectives of every character who shows up in the story mode is also a continuation of what they did in Tekken 6's Scenario Campaign which I think many didn't bother paying attention to.

I do hope they continue the story on Tekken 7 and not leave it as is like that with that cliffhanger. The season pass needs better content to justify its price. So far it's only cosmetic items, 2 characters, 2 stages, and Tekken Bowl which isn't worth that much. Hopefully, they also add a bit of story to those two characters.

I hope they continue supporting and improving the game for a very long time.
