Do you play any games multiple times?

Yes 138 92.00%
No, once is enough. 12 8.00%

Over the weekend I rearranged my gaming area, put a new tele on the wall, and hooked up my Wii U and PS3 after them being dormant for quite a while now (Although I did retire my old phat boy PS3 and replaced it with a slightly newer slim PS3 that doesn't sound like a jet engine when I turn it on)

Today I decided I'd give my Wii U a play since I've not used it in over a year, and I need to get used to playing it again if I want to finish my backlog, lol. I forgot that I bought Super Mario 64 on the eShop back when it came out, so I decided to give it a play for ten minutes or so (I was actually gonna' play Mario Kart 8 since the disc was in, but saw this on my home screen)... well that soon turned into two hours of play where I'd already finished the game twice with the stair glitch (First time just to see if I remembered how to do it, second time trying to do it quickly as a really shit speed run, lol), and started another playthrough actually collecting stars.

It got me thinking about games I can replay over and over, where I don't feel like I'm done with the game after a single playthrough. Super Mario 64 is definitely one of those games, I mean, it's already played a whole bunch for speed runs, I've watched some on YouTube and those guys are really impressive!

Another game that comes to mind is (obviously) Final Fantasy X, which I've played through a whole fifteen times now! I've played it once every year since it released in 2002, but played it twice last year (Both times on PC, one proper playthrough, and again with all the cheats on for a quick run through)

How about you guys? Do you have a game (Or more) that you can replay over and over and never get bored of?

Yeah I could play many games from nostalgia over and over tbh.

Spyro 1-3
Dynasty Warriors 3
Digimon World

I also take turns playing ROTK VIII, IX, X, XIII, Dynasty Tactics 2. Just depends on the style of strategy that I want to play at the time.

Oh man I used to love that game, I never actually replayed it, but I put a whole bunch of hours into my playthrough, it was so good!

Any Mario game
Any Zelda game
Any Pokémon game

Dark Alliance 1 & 2. avoid getting banned for inactivity, I may have to resort to comments that are of a lower overall quality and or beneath my moral standards.

Final Fantasy 8, 9 & 10 for me. Don't play them as much anymore, still enjoy playing them though, but as a kid I'd replay these on a regular basis.

Pokemon. I just love Pokemon. And no interest in the competitive side whatsoever so that doesn't leave much else other than replaying the story, don't mind that though since it's pretty enjoyable.

Dynasty Warriors. I'm a huge musou fan, so I'm always up for replaying some DW!

I play most games only once, but there's some games I've completed several times (more or less):

  • Metal Gear games
  • Titan Quest
  • Grim Dawn (sort of; I still haven't finished it on any harder difficulties)
  • Assassin's Creed II (although not because I liked the game that much)

There's also a lot of games I return to every now and then, not necessarily to complete them but to play them anyway. And then there's some games you can't really complete but that are good to return to every now and then (and for the most part, I don't mean multiplayer games).
