Maybe they'll do what they did with TTT2 and just add some costumes in a delayed port.

If the Tekken team is doing anything on Switch, it's probably Pokken Tournament port or sequel or some similar kind Nintendo-Tekken spinoff.

Apart from that, as Namco-Bandai I'd prioritize porting Smash above porting another fighting game.

If Tekken 7 had already been released, it may have been ported to the Switch. I'm sure about that. But in the current situation, they (Bandai Namco) already have enough work with PS4, One and PC. Maybe when June has passed they'll give it a shot.

I think this is the first time I believe the excuse of a third party developer regarding making a Switch game.

It most likely isn't his decision and even if he knows, he's not allowed to say anything one way or another.  There isn't much else he can do except not talk about the Switch at all.

You believe that they cant study the Switch because its sold out? Im pretty sure Nintendo would be happy to throw a few consoles their way.

To be honest, I'm more interested in Pokken for Switch rather than Tekken. Nintendo letting 3rd Party's use their IPs has been very successful for both Nintendo and the 3rd Party.

Tekken Tag 2 got a Wii-U edition, would buy that instantly if it was ported to the Switch.
